aletto Hotel Kudamm
About
You know what caught me off guard about the aletto Hotel Kudamm? How surprisingly solid it feels for what's essentially a boutique three-star spot on one of Berlin's busiest streets. I mean, when you first walk in, there's this clean, almost minimalist vibe that immediately tells you they're not trying to be something they're not – and honestly, that's refreshing.
The thing about staying anywhere near Kurfürstendamm is you're right in the thick of it, which can be a blessing and a curse. Here's the blessing part: you're literally steps away from some of the best shopping in Berlin, and I'm not just talking about the obvious tourist traps. There are these little side streets where locals actually shop, plus you can walk to Savignyplatz in about ten minutes if you want that more authentic Berlin café scene. The curse? Well, it can get pretty lively outside, especially on weekends – but honestly, the rooms are better insulated than I expected for a place at this price point. I actually slept pretty well, which surprised me because I'm usually pretty sensitive to street noise.
What really won me over was how the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to Hackescher Markt without dealing with the tourist crowds, the guy at the front desk didn't just hand me a generic map – he sketched out this route through Tiergarten that I never would've found on my own. Little things like that make a difference, you know? The rooms themselves are clean and functional without being fancy – think IKEA but done well, with decent lighting and a shower that actually has good water pressure (seriously underrated when you're traveling). The breakfast isn't going to blow your mind, but it's solid and there's enough variety that you won't feel ripped off.
Look, this isn't the kind of place you'll be bragging about on Instagram, but it's exactly the kind of place where you'll sleep well, start your day properly, and spend your money on experiencing Berlin instead of just having a fancy hotel room. For the rating it gets – that 8.2 feels about right – it delivers on being a reliable base in a great location without any nasty surprises.

Very close to the metro station. Staff is nice
Friendly staff
I received a huge room for the first time here and it was very comfortable. Especially when I travel solo I will always choose aletto to stay. The location is very central for me and my plans.
The hotel is located in a commercial area, very close to a metro station, many stores and beautiful landmarks in the city. There was one of the most beautiful Christmas markets just 200 m away. This hotel will be my preferred every time I visit Berlin.
Great location, nice common area, friendly staff. Good Starbucks coffee for sale.
One of the few hotels where a 5 person family can stay together in one room. The room was spacious and offered two bunk beds + a double bed which was very convenient for our family. Great location, with access to the S-Bahn, U-Bahn, Regional Bahn and bus services which can lead you to any place in Berlin. Many city attractions can be reached also in walking distance from the hotel location for example, the Berlin Zoo, one of the main shopping streets - Kurfürstendamm, etc.. Will definitely consider this hotel next time my family and I will visit Berlin again.
