AMC Apartments – Ku’Damm
About
Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect from AMC Apartments when I first walked up to the building on Joachimsthaler Straße – the street's got this interesting mix of tourist buzz and local Berlin grit that somehow works. But you know what? This place actually gets the balance right between being in the thick of things and giving you enough space to breathe.
The location is pretty brilliant if you think about it. You're literally a two-minute walk from Kurfürstendamm (locals just call it Ku'Damm), which means you've got that whole shopping and cafe scene right there, but you're tucked just enough off the main drag that you're not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups. I mean, you can still hear the city – this is Berlin, after all – but it's more of a gentle urban hum than the chaos you'd get right on Ku'Damm itself. The apartment setup is what really sold me on this place, though. Instead of cramming everything into a tiny hotel room, you actually get space to spread out your stuff, maybe grab groceries from the KaDeWe food hall (which is walking distance, by the way) and feel somewhat human after a long day of sightseeing.
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to know their neighborhood – not just the obvious tourist spots, but the good bakery around the corner and which U-Bahn entrance is less crowded during rush hour. The apartments themselves have this clean, unfussy vibe that doesn't try too hard to be trendy but still feels current. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that over-the-top hospitality theater you sometimes get. The building's got character too – it's one of those solid Berlin structures that's seen some history but has been updated thoughtfully. You'll hear your neighbors occasionally (thin walls are pretty standard in this part of the city), but nothing that kept me awake. And here's something practical nobody tells you – the elevator is small but reliable, which matters when you're hauling luggage up to the fourth floor. The whole Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf area has this lived-in quality that I find way more interesting than some of the more polished hotel districts. You're close enough to walk to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church or catch a show at one of the theaters, but you're also in a part of town where actual Berliners live and work. That 8-point rating feels about right – it's not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers on what matters most: location, space, and that slightly indefinable feeling that you're staying somewhere that understands what travelers actually need.

Very good
Nice location, good room and facilities.
No air conditioning as warm days but did dry the washing!
Comfy stay
Comfy, well equipped apartment with washer, drying rack, iron and an oven. Central location. Good night sleep facing the back. Good for longer stay.
Good
Apartment very nice, and very clean, bed big and comfortable. Located close to metro station. We had a place in the garage for our car. The check in went smooth.
Two things: 1.Too hot! With the tempretures outside around 26 it was difficult to cool down the air inside. Even at night with all windows open.It felt like over 30. There was no AC, only one ventilator not very efficient. (it's not a fan). When I asked staff to get proper fan they told me they don't have any. 2. Too loud...due to lack of proper cooling system. As we had to sleep with windows open, we could have easily heard the noise from the near night club.
Great place to spend a few night for Berlin sightseeing
It's a nice place. Everything is automated, the process of getting in is easy, no issues. The room was very spacious, the kitchen had the utensils, bathroom was good (with washing machine and a drying rack). The beds are big and comfortable, we slept quite well there. Location was good as well: close to buses and metro, close to the center, close to shops/cafes and a shopping mall. The paid parking is right next door, the price is very reasonable, so a good option if you travel by car. Overall it's a good place to spend a few days in Berlin!
Not really complaining, but a few things to mention: 1) Cleanliness: the room was clean overall, but the shower cabin has some black, moldy spots. Also, the curtains in the living room were really dirty, you could see they haven't been washed in a long time! Not posting photos, but I have them. 2) The street nearby can be quite noisy, bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. 3) For some reason the stove had a hard time heating up pots, not sure why but even getting water to boil for pasta took ages...
Good quality price ok
Good Location ,super clean , very quiet, personal call center efficient
Check in online sometimes get freeze and u need to try a few times to make all the online check in since the beginning again
Great Stay
Close to public transport, both train and bus. If you catch the bus 100 just outside the Zoo railway station it will take you to a lot of major attractions. Lived that we had cooking facilities and a washing machine. Beds were great.
We only had one pillow each and they were very soft. An extra pillow would have been nice. The wifi didn’t work most of the time and when it did you only got 30 minutes a day. It was totally useless.
Apartment in Berlin
The apartment was lovely, clean and comfortable in a great location. It had all the facilities we needed to be self catering.
The communication with the company before we arrived was very poor. First there was an admin error and they asked us to pay for our stay again. This was resolved but took 24 hours to sort out. Then the check in details and access codes arrived about 45 minutes after we were due to check in. These didn't distract from our stay once we arrived, but wasn't a great start.
