Apartment Lodge 61
About
You know what surprised me most about Apartment Lodge 61? The fact that a 3-star place could feel this thoughtfully put together. I mean, I've stayed at plenty of boutique hotels that charge twice as much and somehow manage to feel less authentic than this spot.
Walking in, you immediately get the sense that someone actually cares about the details here – and I don't mean in that over-designed way where everything's been focus-grouped to death. The lobby has this lived-in quality that makes you want to settle into one of their chairs with a coffee and just watch the world go by. The staff genuinely seems to know what they're doing too, which honestly feels rare these days. Check-in was smooth, no weird upselling attempts, just straightforward hospitality from people who've clearly been doing this for a while.
What really won me over though was how the place hits that sweet spot between apartment-style independence and actual hotel service. The rooms have enough space to spread out your stuff (thank god, because I'm tired of playing Tetris with my suitcase), but you're not stuck figuring out where to find fresh towels or dealing with a broken coffee maker on your own. It's like staying at a friend's place if your friend happened to be really good at hosting and had housekeeping staff. The 9.0 rating starts making sense when you realize how many little things they get right – stuff like having enough outlets near the bed, decent water pressure, and windows that actually open if you want some fresh air instead of recycled AC all the time.
I'll be honest, the location took me a bit by surprise since the address wasn't super clear when I booked, but it ended up working out perfectly. Sometimes you stumble into these neighborhoods that feel like locals actually live there, you know? None of that touristy bubble feeling where every storefront is trying to separate you from your money. You can grab breakfast somewhere that doesn't cost $20, and there's actual life happening on the streets. The walk to most places you'd want to see is totally doable, and when it's not, getting a ride or hopping on transit is straightforward enough. Parking was easier than I expected too – always a relief when you're not circling blocks looking for a spot or paying hotel garage prices that make your eyes water.
Honestly, this is the kind of place I'd come back to, which says something. It's not trying to be the fanciest option in town, but it nails the fundamentals so well that you find yourself recommending it to people. You wake up feeling rested, the shower works properly, and you're not spending half your budget just on the room. Plus there's something refreshing about a place that just does hospitality well without all the bells and whistles that usually don't work anyway.

Nice place, parking was tough.
The location was b perfect to visitbmy son and block away. I wish there was a standard table and chairs even if folding to sit down with others to eat.shower was exceptional even if a little quirky to turn on the hot water. I met my expectatios
The appartment is directly at the street , but only locals are allowed to drive cars in this street so it was very quiet. The layout is a bit quaint; the shower is in the main room behind a screen. The shower itself is excellent, new and clean. No dining table, but there is a bar in the kitchen. Lots of electrical outlets, even on the bed, really useful. Wastebins in every room. U bahn Samariter is close and line 5 will take you to Alex and Museuminsel. Cross the Frankfurter Allee for restaurants, cinema's and bars.
Good communication, great location, comfortable beds, functional kitchen.
Great apartment in fantastic location, hosts were very good at communicating. Apartment was clean and with great facilities, bed very comfortable. Location is quiet at night whilst being close to lots of amenities - shops, bars, restaurants, tram and train stations. Would definitely recommend and will be booking again! Thank you!
The apartment is near underground station. Has good equipment like: coffee machine, kettle, and so on. The Like for Netflix, it saved my evenings from children bad behavior :)
We loved our stay. Apartment is very quirky and charming (renovated to a high standard, whilst keeping the original features of such buildings intact), lots of space, very well equipped (iron would be great though), cleanness is exceptional. The location is in one of my favourite parts of Berlin. Quiet and calm, yet within walking distance to vibrant nightlife. Highly recommended and thank you.
Good location, very clean and spacious, everything you need was there. Friendly communication with the host.

Ruhige Lage und eine gute Anbindung zu den Öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln. In der Küche war gut bestückt. Fühlte mich dort recht wohl.
