BerLietz
About
You know what caught me off guard about BerLietz? The fact that I'd never heard of it before stumbling across this gem on Bayernallee. I mean, with a 9.9 rating, you'd think everyone would be talking about it – but honestly, that's probably part of its charm. This isn't some massive hotel chain where you feel like just another booking number.
The location is actually perfect if you want to feel like you're living in Berlin rather than just visiting it. Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf isn't the touristy center (thank god), but you're still incredibly well-connected. There's this lovely residential vibe along Bayernallee – tree-lined streets, locals walking their dogs, actual Berliners going about their day. The S-Bahn connections are solid, and I found myself walking to nearby Messe Berlin a few times just because the area felt so pleasant. What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night – not dead quiet, but that perfect urban hum where you can actually sleep with the windows cracked open.
The hotel itself feels more like staying at a sophisticated friend's place than a typical four-star property. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward (no upselling or lengthy explanations of obvious amenities), and the staff seemed to actually remember guests from day to day. The rooms have that understated German design thing down pat – clean lines, quality materials, everything functional but not sterile. I particularly loved the bathroom setup; the shower pressure was honestly better than my apartment back home, and they'd clearly invested in proper lighting that doesn't make you look terrible in the morning.
One small thing that impressed me was the attention to soundproofing. Even though Bayernallee gets some traffic during rush hours, I barely noticed it from inside. The breakfast situation is solid too – nothing overly fancy, but fresh ingredients and they actually know how to make proper coffee. I ended up chatting with other guests most mornings, which doesn't usually happen at bigger hotels where everyone's rushing around with their wheeled luggage.
If I'm being completely honest, the only minor critique I'd have is that the lobby area is pretty compact – not a place you'd want to hang out for hours. But then again, you're in Berlin, so why would you want to sit in a hotel lobby anyway? The neighborhood has some excellent restaurants within walking distance (there's this Turkish place around the corner that locals clearly frequent), and you're close enough to both the city center and areas like Prenzlauer Berg without being in the thick of tourist chaos.
For the price point of a four-star in Berlin, BerLietz delivers something that's getting rarer – genuine hospitality without the corporate polish that can feel so impersonal. It's the kind of place I'd actually return to, which says a lot since I usually prefer trying somewhere new each trip.

Felt completely at home, and looking forward to our next visit in 2026!
This was our second stay at BerLietz. Friendly welcome (again). Comfortable modern little apartment with off-street parking, in a residential area close to shops, restaurants and public transport. Little touches including some 'welcome drinks' (beer and soft) in the fridge, ice creams in the freezer (it was very hot during our stay), coffee and tea bags, fresh rolls and a newspaper every morning. Very relaxing stay in a great city.
Awesome stay in nice neighbourhood
Our guest was so warm, and nice, and helpful. Neighbourhood is quite far from the city centre but it was ok for us. Room was very comfy and we got warm bread for breakfast! Definetely would recommend staying here.
Really nothing at all.
A Gem in Berlin
This was a very comfortable, well equipped and convenient apartment. It was an easy walk to trains and trams that gave you access to the whole of Berlin. The apartment itself was very comfortable with good cooking facilities and access to a washing machine. It had it's own private patio and a drying frame we could set up there for easy drying. The host left an abundance of items for us to have including beer, snacks and ice cream, along with fresh rolls and a newspaper each morning. I highly recommend this accommodation and would come back any time.

Wonderful property for travelling in Berlin
A wonderful property in Berlin. In a perfect neighborhood right next to the metro. The 2 dogs and ponies that roam the property are adorable. The owners were wonderful and accommodating. The bread every morning was wonderful
Not a single negative, nothing
A great find! Wir freuen uns auf unseren nächsten Besuch!
Beautifully presented little 'home from home'. Everything we needed, and some welcome treats in the fridge on arrival. Super clean and hosts very welcoming, dogs friendly too. Great location. We greatly appreciated having off-road parking for our car. Within easy reach of public transport, shops and cafés. A great find and we would definitely stay here again on a future visit to Berlin.
There is nothing to say here!
Great place to stay for exploring Berlin
Very friendly and helpful owner Ira Lietz. Thank you so much! Perfectly equipped apartment, everything is taken care of, you feel cozy like at home. Everything you might need has been thought of. There are free drinks and ice cream in the fridge, cookies and snacks are served. Every morning the hostess serves fresh, still warm bread buns. Special attention for children: children's bedding, dishes, coasters and sweets as gifts. I highly recommend staying for families with children. Ponies walk in the yard. Great location, nearby bus and metro stations. A few stops to the city center.
Highly recommended
Fabulous accommodation. We spent 5 nights there and cooked most nights. Wasn’t do washing as well. Very convenient between U and S Bahn .

Highly recommended, the apartment is equipped with everything you need, very clean. The location is convenient, close to the metro and train. Pleasant surprises from the owner. And most importantly, pet-friendly.
Wonderful stay in Berlin
We love everything there. It feels like home. All rooms are clean. We arrived late but Ira still was there to greet us. The place was fully equipped with anything you need. She arranged us some sweets, treats and drinks Inc. Soda, beers and sparkling wine. There is freshly baked bread serving at our door for free. We stayed over new year's eve. She gave us very cute decorated tradition Berliner. S and U Bahn is 400-600m away. You can commute to centre by 20mins more or less. Just buy S Bahn day ticket and validate it for 24hrs used for unlimited transportation zone AB. We recommended you to stay here. We love the place more than words can say. Thank you Ira for having us.
