About

First Impressions

The Berlin Loft nähe Olympiastadion caught me off guard in the best possible way. I mean, when you think of staying near Berlin's famous stadium, you might picture some generic chain hotel — but this three-star gem in Spandau is actually something quite different. The moment I walked into this converted loft space, I could tell someone put real thought into making it feel like home rather than just another place to crash for the night.

Location & Neighborhood

Honestly, Spandau gets overlooked by most tourists, but that's exactly what makes this spot special. You're on Am Juliusturm, which sounds fancy but it's actually a pretty quiet residential street that gives you a genuine taste of how Berliners actually live. The Olympiastadion is close enough that you can walk there for events (and trust me, the atmosphere on match days is incredible), but you're far enough away to avoid the crowds when you want to relax. What really surprised me was how well-connected this area is — the S-Bahn gets you into central Berlin faster than you'd expect, and there's something refreshing about returning to this peaceful neighborhood after a day of sightseeing.

The Space

The loft itself feels more like staying in a friend's stylish apartment than a typical hotel room. The ceilings are high, the windows let in tons of natural light, and whoever designed this place clearly understood that travelers want space to actually live, not just sleep. I spent quite a bit of time just lounging around, which isn't something I usually do when I'm traveling. The kitchen area is well-equipped enough that I actually cooked a few meals — partly because I wanted to, but also because the local markets in Spandau have some fantastic fresh ingredients that you don't always find in the touristy parts of town.

Local Experience

You know what I loved most about this place? It forced me to explore a side of Berlin I never would have seen otherwise. There's this great little restaurant just a few blocks away where locals gather for dinner, and I stumbled across the Zitadelle Spandau — this medieval fortress that's absolutely fascinating and completely tourist-free. The neighborhood has this relaxed, almost village-like feel that's such a nice contrast to the intensity of central Berlin. Plus, parking here is actually manageable if you're driving, which anyone who's tried to park in Mitte will appreciate.

Why Guests Love It

The 9.1 rating makes perfect sense once you've stayed here — it's that rare combination of comfort, authenticity, and value that's getting harder to find. Couples especially seem to get it (they rated the location 9.0, which tracks), probably because there's something romantic about having your own little Berlin hideaway. It's not trying to be flashy or impress you with unnecessary amenities, but everything you actually need is there and done well. I left feeling like I'd discovered something special, and honestly, that's worth more than any fancy hotel lobby.

It’s in a great location across from a quaint shopping area in a walking only zone in old town Spandau. Next door are several good restaurants & a Biergarten & the river. Maybe 10-15 minute walks in different directions are the citadel & the river where you can take an awesome cruise around Berlin. The apartment itself is great, but really a large studio rather than 1 BR as listed. 3 of us stayed here with no issues of privacy. The managers were very accommodating & helpful with any questions/issues I had (such as locking myself out🙄).

Well-placed apartment, easily reachable from Berlin-Spandau S-Bahn, or the U-Bahn station just opposite. Has everything you need for a short stay. Parking (for a fee) is easily available at the nearby Parkplatz am Brauhaus Spandau.
