The name makes it sound like some trendy restaurant, but it's actually this really solid apartment rental tucked away in Karlshorst – and honestly, that worked out perfectly for our group of seven. I mean, finding decent accommodation for that many people in Berlin without breaking the bank is usually a nightmare, but this place delivered in ways I wasn't expecting.

The apartment itself has this clean, no-nonsense modern vibe that I actually appreciated after staying in too many "quirky" Berlin places with weird art and furniture that looks cool but hurts your back. Everything here just works – the WiFi is legitimately fast (I was working remotely part of the trip), the kitchen has actual counter space for more than one person, and there are enough bathrooms that nobody's waiting around awkwardly in the morning. The S-Bahn connections are honestly pretty decent once you figure them out, and there's something refreshing about grabbing coffee at local spots where the barista isn't automatically switching to English when they see you coming.

What really sold me on the area (and I'd definitely stay here again) is how it strikes this balance between being residential enough to feel authentic but connected enough that you're not spending half your day on public transport. There's a decent grocery store within walking distance – important when you're feeding seven people and restaurant bills start adding up fast. The neighborhood gets properly quiet at night, which was perfect since we had some early morning plans and couldn't deal with street noise keeping us up. I'll be honest, it's not the most Instagram-worthy location in Berlin, but sometimes you want a place that just handles the basics really well without any drama. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me – it's not trying to be fancy, but it nails what it's going for, and when you're splitting costs among a big group, that reliability is worth more than fancy amenities you'll barely use anyway.
