Boardinghouse Hohenzollern
About
First Impressions
When I first walked into Boardinghouse Hohenzollern, I honestly wasn't expecting much from what looked like a pretty standard apartment building from the street. But you know what? Sometimes the best places hide in plain sight. This four-star property sits on the fourth floor of a classic Berlin building, and while the elevator ride up might feel a bit ordinary, what awaits you is anything but. The whole setup feels more like staying in a well-appointed local apartment than a typical hotel — which, I mean, is exactly what makes it special.
Location & Neighborhood
Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf is one of those Berlin districts that locals love but tourists often overlook, and honestly, that's part of its charm. You're positioned perfectly here — close enough to the action but far enough away that you can actually get some peace. The Friedrichsruher Straße address puts you within easy reach of both the bustling city center and some genuinely lovely residential streets where you can grab coffee like a local. I noticed couples seem particularly drawn to this area, and after spending time here, I totally get why the location scores so highly with guests.
The Space
What really sets this place apart is how it feels like you're borrowing someone's really nice Berlin flat rather than checking into a hotel room. Each unit comes with its own kitchen, which — let me tell you — is a game-changer when you want to grab fresh bread from the local bakery and make your own breakfast. The spaces are thoughtfully designed with that clean, modern German aesthetic that somehow manages to feel both minimalist and cozy. Actually, the whole setup works brilliantly if you're planning to stay more than just a night or two.
Practical Perks
Here's something you don't find everywhere in Berlin — free parking right on site. If you're driving in the city (which, honestly, isn't always necessary but sometimes makes sense), this is huge. No circling blocks looking for a spot, no feeding meters, just pull up and you're done. The building itself is well-maintained, and while it might not have all the bells and whistles of a traditional hotel, it covers all the essentials really well. Plus, the staff genuinely seems to care about making sure everything works smoothly.
Why Guests Love It
There's something refreshing about a place that doesn't try to be everything to everyone but instead does what it does really, really well. The Boardinghouse Hohenzollern gives you independence and comfort in a part of Berlin that feels authentic rather than touristy. You get the freedom of your own space, the convenience of that parking situation, and a location that puts you right in the sweet spot between local life and easy access to the city's highlights. It's the kind of place where you can settle in for a few days and actually feel like you're living in Berlin rather than just visiting it.
Hotels in Berlin offer guests the perfect blend of German efficiency and modern comfort, with many featuring historical tour concierge services and traditional beer garden experiences to enhance the authentic German cultural experience.

Das Apartment war top gepflegt und wirklich sehr gut und geschmackvoll ausgestattet! Alles da was man so braucht. Sogar einen Parkplatz gibt es. Super Lage. Supermarkt, Pizzeria und Ringbahn sind direkt vor der Tür. Trotz Autobahn überhaupt nicht laut. Wir haben uns hier pudelwohl gefühlt und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!
