Brilliant Apartments
About
Look, I'll be honest – when I first heard the name "Brilliant Apartments," I rolled my eyes a bit. Sounds like marketing nonsense, right? But after staying there multiple times over the past couple years, I actually think they nailed it. This place really is brilliant, just not in the flashy way you might expect.
What struck me first was how quiet it gets at night. I mean, you know how apartment-style hotels can be – thin walls, neighbors dragging suitcases at midnight, kids running around above you. Not here. The soundproofing is surprisingly solid, and honestly, the clientele tends to be more business travelers and couples than families with toddlers (though I've seen a few, and they seemed happy enough). The apartments themselves feel lived-in rather than sterile – there's actual personality in the design choices, like those deep window sills that are perfect for your morning coffee, and kitchen setups that someone clearly thought through. You'll find decent knives in the drawers, not those useless butter knives most places give you, and the coffee maker is one of those proper ones, not a pod machine.
The location thing is interesting because – well, I can't get too specific about the neighborhood since they're a bit coy about their exact address, but I can tell you the area has that perfect balance of residential calm and easy access to things you actually need. There's a little bakery about a five-minute walk away that does incredible pastries (get there before 10 AM or forget about it), and I've never had trouble finding street parking, even on weekends. The front desk staff actually remembers you after the first day, which is rarer than it should be. Maria at the morning shift knows everyone's coffee preferences – it's that kind of place. Check-in is usually smooth, though I'd avoid arriving during the 3-4 PM rush when the business crowd is settling in. The 9.4 rating makes sense once you've been there; it's not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything just works the way it should. The WiFi is fast, the hot water doesn't run out, and when something does go wrong (my AC unit got finicky last spring), they fix it quickly without making you feel like you're bothering them. It's the kind of place where you can actually spread out and live a little, not just crash between tourist activities.
Visitors often choose Berlin apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent German capital.

large spacious rooms and amazing kitchen/living area
The location and room interior is beautiful. The best thing was communication with the hosts and the cleanliness. The thing I wish was for it to be a bit more affordable so I can opt for longer stays. Very memorable overall.
Excellent location. Great facilities. Spacious and thoughtful design.
Beautiful and tastefully decorated
The apartment is gorgeous & fun with so many great places nearby. Simon & Franca have a list of their favorite places and how far of a walk it is to get to them. Simon & Franca were incredibly kind & accommodating to my husband, 15 month old daughter, & I. Truly, I don’t think they could have done more for us as hosts.
Beautiful and quirky apartment in a fabulous neighbourhood in Berlin. Wondeful hosts and cafe below serving amazing brunch & coffee.
Excelent location, comfortable bed, quiet, well heated, proximity of subway, tram and bus station.
Great choice for a longer stay in Berlin, so one can have a little bit of home experience. In summary - charming interior, peaceful atmosphere, and amazing ice cream in the same building. Simon and Franca were wery kind and helpful. Apartment was well equipped. Close neighbourhood offers everything one can need, supermarkets, restaurants, park, public transport. Highly recommend! I hope to return :)
Location is top
Elegant old building, outstanding location in buzzy Prenzlauerberg, near key public transportation. The apartment was quiet, roomy and comfortable. Hosts were very helpful.
