Budget Studio Kreuzberg – Lachmannstr HH
About
Look, I'll be straight with you about Budget Studio Kreuzberg – it's one of those places that doesn't try to be fancy, and honestly, that's exactly what makes it work. When I first walked up to the building on Lachmannstraße, I mean, it's pretty much what you'd expect from the name – clean, simple, no-nonsense. The lobby's small but the staff actually seemed to know what they were doing, which is more than I can say for some of the pricier places I've stayed in Berlin. Check-in was quick, maybe because I arrived mid-afternoon when things weren't crazy busy.
The studio itself is... well, it's a studio. You're not getting a sprawling suite here, but everything you need is there and it's laid out smartly. The bed's comfortable enough – I'm picky about mattresses and this one didn't leave me groaning in the morning. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even though you're right in Kreuzberg. I was worried about street noise since the area can get pretty lively, especially on weekends, but the windows do their job. The little kitchenette is actually useful too – there's a Rewe just a few blocks down Kottbusser Damm if you want to grab some basics instead of eating out every meal. Speaking of food, you're walking distance from some seriously good Turkish spots, and the whole Graefekiez area is right there with its cafes and bars that locals actually go to, not just tourists.
Here's the thing though – this isn't a place where you'll be hanging out in your room all day, and that's kind of the point. You're staying here because you want to be in Kreuzberg without paying Mitte prices, and it delivers on that promise. The U-Bahn connections are solid (Schönleinstraße station is close), so you can get anywhere in the city pretty easily. I noticed most of the other guests seemed to be younger travelers or people in town for work – you know, folks who get that sometimes you just need a clean, safe place to crash that won't drain your budget. The 7.4 rating makes sense to me because it does exactly what it says on the tin, nothing more, nothing less. If you're looking for a concierge or a fancy breakfast spread, keep looking. But if you want to wake up in one of Berlin's most interesting neighborhoods without breaking the bank, and you don't mind a straightforward, no-frills setup, this place gets the job done.

Cozy apartment that had all the amenities one could need for a holiday, great that it has both a washing machine and a dryer. Kitchen is fully stocked as well of one wants to do some cooking. But the best part of it was definitely the host that checked us in Moriel. She was so nice and lovely, and gave us great advice for what we could do in the area. The apartment is located within a beautiful and energetic neighbourhood full of cafes, vintage shops and restaurants, also close to public transportation.
we were greeted by a real local, how gave us some great tips for markets and coffe places in the area. The location is amazing, most things were within walking distance and there was an U bahn stop very close by. The bed was super comfortable and the kitchen had a large fridge and dishwasher.
Everything went super smooth! Clean place, quite roomy, all the gadgets were working etc. Seems it is quite recently renovated. In general much better than any hotel room for the same price and not even mentioning all the rental apartments.
Size of the apartment. Privacy of the apartment - it was away from the street. Kitchen was big and had all amenities required. Smart tv - Netflix included. Location was pretty central. Moriel was lovely and friendly when getting the keys for the place - gave suggestions on things to do/places to go. Dehumidifier included.
cute room, good location, next to the metro station
Location was wonderful and Moriel who gave us the keys was absolutely great and welcoming person.
Great location in Kreuzberg with lots of restaurants close by. Had a washer and a dryer which was so handy a few weeks into our travel. The bed was also one of the comfiest we have stayed in the last few weeks
Small but clean and comfy apartment, perfect for a short trip, it has everything you need :)
Comfortable, convenient location to public transport and simple groceries close by. Great to have a drier as well as a washing machine.
We connected the host by whatsapp so that we can arrange the key pick-up easily. When we arrived the host was waiting for us and we entered easily. They renew the house so everything was clean and working. We were worried about the heating before arrival but it was working perfectly. The equipment in the kitchen was full and clean.
