City Holiday Apartments Berlin
About
Look, I'll be honest – when I first pulled up to City Holiday Apartments Berlin on Selma-Lagerlöf-Str, I wasn't expecting much from Pankow. Most people think Berlin means Mitte or Kreuzberg, but this northern district actually turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that make you feel like you've discovered something the guidebooks missed. The building itself has that solid, understated German apartment block vibe – nothing flashy, but you can tell it's been thoughtfully converted into proper holiday accommodations rather than just thrown together.
What really got me was how genuinely residential this area feels. You're staying where actual Berliners live, which means real bakeries on the corner (there's this incredible one about two blocks down that does pretzels that'll ruin you for airport versions forever), tree-lined streets that aren't clogged with tour groups, and – here's the thing nobody tells you – parking that doesn't require a second mortgage. The apartments themselves are spacious in that way German places do well, with proper kitchens that actually work and windows that open wide enough to let in that crisp Berlin air. I mean, the furnishing is pretty straightforward, nothing Instagram-worthy, but everything functions exactly as it should. The wifi was solid, the shower had decent pressure, and honestly, after a day of walking around the city, that's what matters.
The location thing is interesting – you're about a 20-minute S-Bahn ride from the main tourist areas, but that ended up being perfect. Pankow has this lovely, almost village-y feel with the Bürgerpark right there for morning runs, and the transport connections are actually better than you'd expect. The S2 line gets you to Friedrichstraße pretty quickly, and once you figure out the rhythm, it's kind of nice to come back to somewhere that feels calm after the intensity of central Berlin. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the neighborhood smells like actual trees and not currywurst – which is great when you need a break from tourist Berlin. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you've stayed there; it's not trying to be a luxury hotel, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any of the usual apartment rental headaches. If you're the type who values space, authenticity, and being able to grab groceries at normal German prices rather than tourist markup, this place gets it right.

Clean comfortable apartment for family with young children
We stayed in family apartment 5. The apartment is located in a very quiet neighbourhood. It has a very comfortable and private outdoor area. The apartment is located at the rear of the building so it is very quiet with no street noise. The host is very attentive to all needs and even did our laundry for us as there are no laundry facilities nearby. The apartment was clean and well equipped with cooking facilities(no oven). A shopping centre with two supermarkets is located within a five minute walk. There is a TV in both the lounge and the bed room (with Netflix). Lots of car parking if you’re driving.
There is one bedroom with 3 beds and a 4th bed is on the lounge. The apartment suits a family with small children. We travelled with our adult children and meant the apartment was too small. If travelling with moderate luggage there’s limited storage space. But there other apartments in the complex that may be bigger. The nearest subway is 14 minutes walk which is an effort if carrying luggage. The 250 bus from the subway (get off at the supermarket) is an option.
Perfect place to stay for a Couple or a Family
We absolutely loved our stay here! This property is beautifully maintained, clean, and quiet, with a fantastic garden and plenty of space for everyone, especially families. Its convenient location is a huge plus: you're just a 20-minute drive from the city center, and there's a shopping center within walking distance for all your daily needs. Plus, there's ample free parking right outside. We're so glad we booked it!
Everything was perfect.
Exceptional
Pretty good property . Good facility . Good parking . Will stay again
Superb!
An excellent apartment, very tidy, clean, and extremely comfortable. The courtyard terrace is beautiful. After a long journey, we were welcomed in the apartment with juice, water, and cookies. The apartment is fully equipped with all appliances, the Wi-Fi is excellent, and there were also essential supplies (oil, salt, sugar, etc.). The location is great, in a quiet and tidy neighborhood with always available parking. The metro is easily accessible with a short walk or just a few minutes by car. The hosts are very kind and unobtrusive. They sent us messages several times to ask if we were satisfied and if we needed anything. Definitely recommended, and if we visit Berlin again, we will book this place again.
Nothing
Wonderful, peaceful flat, very well situated.
The place was very clean and tidy with a well stocked kitchen, good shower and comfortable beds. The USB ports by each bed was a fantastic touch. Hosts gave us check in information in plenty time and stayed in touch throughout. The garden and seating area was idyllic. Ten minute walk from a Tube station with an Aldi closer for essentials. I would certainly stay again.
