COOLEST Apartment in Berlin, easy Check-in, close to center
About
Look, I'll be honest – when I first saw the name "COOLEST Apartment in Berlin" I rolled my eyes a bit. You know how these Airbnb titles can be, right? But this black and white maisonette actually lives up to the hype, and I say that as someone who's stayed in way too many Berlin apartments over the years.
The whole check-in thing is genuinely seamless – they've got one of those keypad systems that actually works (miracle!), so no awkward waiting around or hunting down keys from some random café. The place sits on Berliner Allee in Pankow, which honestly used to be pretty sleepy but has gotten interesting lately. You're about a 15-minute S-Bahn ride to Mitte, but here's the thing – Pankow has this great local vibe that most tourists never see. There's this fantastic Vietnamese place literally around the corner that locals queue up for, and the morning bakery down the street does these incredible poppy seed rolls that'll ruin your diet plans.
The apartment itself has this stark, minimalist thing going on – hence the black and white theme, I guess – but it's done well, not like those sterile places that feel like a dentist's office. The maisonette layout means you get proper separation between the living area and bedroom, which is clutch if you're traveling with someone and have different schedules. The kitchen's small but functional (though honestly, with Berlin's food scene, you won't be cooking much anyway). What really got me was the attention to details – decent shower pressure (thank god), blackout curtains that actually block light, and they've got proper hangers instead of those wire things that make you want to cry. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which matters if you're working remotely or just trying to figure out which U-Bahn line doesn't have construction this week.
Pankow's got this quiet residential feel, especially in the evenings, but it's not dead quiet – you'll hear some street noise during the day, which personally I find kind of comforting in a big city. The 8.7 rating makes sense to me; it's not trying to be luxury, but everything works and the location gives you that authentic Berlin neighborhood experience without being stuck in some tourist bubble around Brandenburger Tor. Plus, parking's actually possible here if you're driving, unlike in Kreuzberg where you'll circle for hours and end up paying €20 for a spot three kilometers away. The S-Bahn connections are reliable, and once you figure out the rhythm of the trains, getting around Berlin becomes pretty effortless. I mean, it's still Berlin public transport, so there'll be delays and weird announcements, but from here you're connected to everything that matters.

Superb
The apartment was in a friendly neighborhood with super markets, cafeterias, bakeries and restaurants close by. The train station was also rather close. The apartment was spacious enough for 5 people and fully equipped to make our stay easy and pleasant. The staff was also very helpful.
My stay at the Black White 44sqm 2-room maisonette was wonderfully tranquil and inviting.
my stay was fantastic! The simple decor exuded a cozy charm, creating a relaxing atmosphere throughout. From the well-appointed kitchen to the serene bedrooms, every detail was thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience. Despite its central location, the property was remarkably quiet, allowing for peaceful relaxation after busy days. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning in the future. Best regards, Brian
Beautiful modern appartement
Best appartement I’ve visited in Berlin, def coming back!
Everything was perfect
Best base for berlin
We loved the spaciousness of the apartment and how it was away from the street. The beds were like clouds and so comfortable. It was the little touches in the design (like built in USB pugs besides bed) that give this place a touch of luxury. The access to the washing machine and the kitchen in apartment allow you to make yourself at home. The location is fantastic with great little cafe and restaurants near by and a supermarket. Super easy to get into city on public transport. Communication with Fabian was A+ he was super responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend this place and if in Berlin again I will be back.
Check the assembly of the chairs 😉

The design is good, it's modern and comfortable at the same time. The location is OK, near a tram station with several trams.
