EITHER Private 2B2B OR Shared 1B1B, Luxury, Bright, Spacious
About
Look, I've stayed in a lot of places around Berlin, and this spot on Wallstraße honestly surprised me. You know how some accommodations have these crazy long names that don't really tell you anything? Well, this one delivers exactly what it promises – whether you go for the private two-bedroom setup or the shared option, you're getting serious space and light. I mean, we're talking about actual room to breathe here, which is rare in Mitte.
The location is what really got me though. Wallstraße sounds super touristy, right? But it's actually this perfect sweet spot where you're close enough to walk to Museum Island in like ten minutes, but far enough from Unter den Linden that you're not dealing with tour groups under your window at 7 AM. The building itself has that solid Berlin character – you know, the kind where the entrance feels a bit intimidating but then you get upstairs and it's all modern and bright. I was there in February (honestly not the best time to judge natural light in Berlin), but even then the windows let in so much daylight that I barely needed the lamps during the day.
What I really appreciated was how they've thought about the practical stuff. The kitchen actually has everything you need – and I mean actually, not just a hot plate and a prayer. There's proper counter space, decent cookware, even a dishwasher in the two-bedroom unit. The beds are firm but not hotel-hard, and the wifi works everywhere, which is more than I can say for some four-star places I've been to. Honestly, the only thing that felt a bit off was the shower pressure – it's fine, just not amazing – but that's pretty typical for older Berlin buildings. The neighborhood gets quiet after 10 PM or so, which surprised me given how central it is. You'll hear the occasional late tram, but it's more of a gentle rumble than anything disruptive.
Here's the thing though – if you're looking for that glossy hotel experience with someone to carry your bags and recommend restaurants, this isn't it. But if you want a place that feels like a really nice Berlin apartment where you can actually live for a few days instead of just sleeping, then yeah, this works. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me – it's not perfect, but it gets the big things right. Plus, you're a five-minute walk from Hackescher Markt when you want that Berlin nightlife energy, and the same distance from the river when you need to decompress. I'd definitely book it again, especially for longer stays when hotel rooms start feeling cramped.
Visitors often choose Berlin apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent German capital.

Exceptional
Very beautiful and with an artistic vibe house in the city center!
Exceptional
Great location, right next to the Museumsinsel and connected to the subway. Spacious, clean place with everything we needed, with amenities in the bathroom and tableware in the kitchen.
Superb
My son and his friend stayed there and absolutely loved it. Cool vibe and in a nice location.
The fact that it’s not possible to use the kitchen (oven and cooktop) took away from the experience a bit - it would have been much better if that had been available. Also, it would help to make it clearer on the booking platform that it’s a shared apartment. In his case, it was great because the other guest was super nice.
unbeatable location and quality in Berlin
Absolutely stunning place, you'd be hard put to find anything better - for the same price or higher - anywhere in Berlin. Location as central as it could get, 15 mins on foot from Museum Island, right beside an U-Bahn station and a bus stop, Alexanderplatz is three stops away, Potsdamerplatz is 7 bus stops away. Food stores and eating places nearby. A new building, elevators, wide halls (so suitable for mobility-challenged), all new fittings, spacious apartment newly done, with fantastic impressionist-style art on the walls and other art objects around, you feel as if it is your own home. Modern kitchen-studio with glass table, comfy chairs and sofas, a huuuuge balcony, wall-height windows etc. Modern induction stove, coffee-maker and coffee grinder (I loved the espresso I made), a large fridge etc., great shower and other facilities (e.g. washer & tumble dryer). I got a smaller bedroom of the two, each bedroom is locked with a separate key (kitchen-studio is shared). Would surely stay there again - the price-quality-location ratio is very hard to beat. Excellent host, very straightforward, easy to get in touch with it, timely responses, provides excellent instructions on how to get in etc. - top marks.
The only downside is no curtains in the main room, and it faces east, so could get a bit hot in the morning, I gather that is fixable. Was not a problem for me as I come from Finland and I am sleeping with a face mask :) (no curtains will save you from summer sun in Finland!)
Lovely comfortable apartment in a great location.
Lovely apartment with all amenities you could wish for. Well resourced and equipped with nice additional touches of games and painting by numbers.
