Flattering – Berlin
About
You know what? Flattering in Berlin is one of those places that doesn't try too hard to impress you – and somehow that makes it more charming. It's a solid 3-star spot that actually delivers on what it promises, which honestly feels rare these days. The moment you walk in, there's this relaxed vibe that just works, like they've figured out how to be comfortable without being fancy about it.
The location is pretty sweet if you know Berlin even a little bit. You're not stuck in some tourist bubble, but you're not wandering around lost either. I mean, you can actually get to the good stuff without spending half your day on the U-Bahn, and there are these little neighborhood spots nearby that most visitors never stumble across. The breakfast place around the corner – I won't spoil it, but ask the front desk about the bakery with the green awning. Trust me on this one. The rooms themselves are... well, they're honest rooms. Clean, functional, with that particular European efficiency that Americans sometimes find charmingly minimal and sometimes find a bit sparse (depends on your mood, really). The beds are surprisingly comfortable though, and the shower pressure is actually decent – which you'll appreciate after a long day of walking around the city.
What I really like about Flattering is that it feels lived-in rather than sterile. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy working there, which makes a bigger difference than you'd think. They'll give you real directions, not just the tourist map speech, and they actually know their neighborhood. The 7.6 rating makes sense to me – it's not trying to be the Ritz, but it nails what it's going for. There's usually a good mix of travelers staying here too, from young backpackers to couples on city breaks, so the lobby has this nice energy without being chaotic. Honestly, if you're the type who spends most of your time exploring the city anyway and just needs a clean, comfortable base camp, this place hits that sweet spot between budget and boutique. Plus – and this might sound small but it matters – the WiFi actually works throughout the building, the check-in process doesn't make you want to scream, and they don't nickel and dime you for every little thing. Sometimes that's exactly what you need from a hotel.

The property is very spacious, the kitchen is good for cooking and baking and the beds and bathroom were nice.
Everything worked, plenty of supplies (linens, kitchen items, lotions etc), pretty clean, overall lay out was good. Kitchen and bath were fairly new (nice and functional). Nespresso pods being was a nice plus. Near public transport.
It was great nice and clean. Communication was excellent and everything worked fine. The main challenge is related to the the area which is not the best.
Have great experience with this apartment and host! Seems they have many similar flats and we have got one on the first (second) floor, with three rooms but just one bathroom. Btw, you can hear all the water from wc and bathroom in two of three rooms of the apartment, so bring earplugs! It was clean, warm and all was prepared. We were allowed to leave our bags earlier in the cleaner’s room on the ground floor, as well as had earlier check in. The only downside of this property is its location, which may look uncomfortable, but it is Berlin! And we had no issues and all went smoothly. Price we paid was also good for Berlin these times.
Absolutely relaxing apartment. The furnishings are simple but functional and new. There is a Lidl and Penny right in the neighbourhood. At the time of our stay, it was also possible to park directly in the yard (not sure if this will change over time due to ongoing renovations). Communication with the owners was seamless, pleasant, and quick. You won't get an apartment this big (8 people) for a comparable price in Berlin right away.
WiFi dead on last day. Location bad. Not near any attractions
Specious apartment, cleanliness, cooking facilities
Everything was like in the pictures, the kitchen was fully equiped.
Everything is clean and modern
Comfort. Two toilets for two rooms. This was very comfortable
