About this stay

About

Look, I'll be honest with you – Flattering Suites isn't going to blow your mind, but there's something genuinely likeable about this place that keeps drawing me back when I'm in Berlin. It sits on Reinickendorfer Straße in what's technically Mitte, though you're really more in Wedding territory here, which actually works in your favor. You know what I mean? You get that authentic Berlin neighborhood vibe without the tourist circus that's taken over the more central parts of Mitte.

The building itself has that classic Berlin apartment block feel – nothing fancy, but solid in a way that makes you feel like you're staying somewhere real rather than some sterile hotel bubble. The suites (and they actually are proper suites, not just rooms with a sitting area tacked on) have these high ceilings that remind you you're in a proper old European city, plus enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The kitchenettes are small but functional – I mean, you're not cooking Thanksgiving dinner, but you can definitely handle breakfast and simple meals, which honestly saves you a fortune in a city where even basic restaurant meals add up fast. What I really appreciate is how quiet it gets at night. Wedding isn't exactly party central like Kreuzberg or Friedrichshain, so you can actually sleep without earplugs, even with the windows cracked open in summer.

Here's the thing about the location that most travel sites won't tell you – yes, you're about 15 minutes by U-Bahn from the Brandenburg Gate tourist zone, but you're also a short walk from some genuinely great neighborhood spots. There's this Turkish bakery around the corner that does incredible börek in the mornings, and the Sprengelkiez area nearby has some of the most authentic international food in the city without the markup you get in touristy areas. The Wedding U-Bahn station is maybe a seven-minute walk, and once you're on the U6 line, you can get pretty much anywhere in the city without transfers. Parking is actually possible here too – not guaranteed, but possible, which is more than you can say for most of central Berlin. The staff runs pretty lean, so don't expect concierge-level service, but they're helpful when you need them and won't hover when you don't. Check-in is straightforward, though I'd recommend arriving before 8 PM just to be safe. The 7.2 rating feels about right – it's not luxury, but it's clean, comfortable, and well-located for people who want to experience Berlin like someone who actually lives here rather than just hitting the obvious tourist checkboxes.

The neighbourhood should make you think twice before booking.

It was very comfortable and the space nicely used!

What could be improved: The neighbourhood seemed dangerous, especially at night. Also it was super hot even with the fan on.

Good value for money but booking.com page is not accurate

The room design was elegant and modern

What could be improved: In the booking.com page, the street parking is indicated as a free parking facility. Instead it is very expensive. I have to pay around 33 euro per day to park my car there. For three days, it costed me additional 100 euros. Room is not sound proof, too loud partying heard from nearby rooms at 0200 am which made us uncomfortable.

Amazing potential!!

The size of the apartment was amazing, it was looks very modern and stylish and is really convenient for the centre of Berlin. Directly opposite the front door was a supermarket.

What could be improved: I get the impression this place has just been renovated, there was dust on surfaces. The flat is right next to a building development, was woken at 0706 hrs to building work, could not get back to sleep.
