Hampton by Hilton Berlin City Centre Alexanderplatz
About
Look, I'll be straight with you about the Hampton by Hilton near Alexanderplatz – it's one of those places that gets the job done really well without trying to be something it's not. You know what I mean? It's a solid 3-star that actually feels like it's punching above its weight class, especially considering you're basically in the heart of everything Berlin has to offer.
The location is honestly what sold me on this place. You're literally a few minutes' walk from Alexanderplatz, which I know sounds touristy, but hear me out – it's actually perfect for getting around the city. The U-Bahn and S-Bahn connections are right there, so you can hop over to Kreuzberg for dinner or catch the train out to Charlottenburg without thinking twice. Plus, and this is something I didn't expect, you're close enough to all the action but far enough that you're not dealing with the chaos of drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM. The street it's on has that nice urban buzz during the day but settles down at night, which is... well, it's kind of the sweet spot you want in Berlin.
What really impressed me was how they've managed to nail that Hampton Inn consistency while still feeling like you're actually in Berlin. The breakfast spread is solid – proper German bread, decent coffee, and they don't skimp on the fresh stuff. The rooms are clean and modern without being sterile, and honestly, the beds are better than you'd expect for a 3-star. I mean, I've stayed in some 4-star places in other cities where I woke up feeling like I'd been wrestling all night, but here I actually slept well. The bathrooms are compact but functional – hot water comes fast, good water pressure, and there's enough counter space for your toiletries without everything sliding into the sink. One small thing that stuck with me: the windows actually open properly, which sounds silly but you'd be surprised how many hotels have those weird half-opening security things that barely let in any air.
The 7.9 rating makes total sense to me because this isn't a place trying to wow you with fancy amenities or over-the-top service – it's just consistently good at the things that matter. Check-in was smooth, the staff spoke excellent English (and German, obviously), and when I had a question about getting to Tegel airport, the front desk person actually pulled out a map and walked me through the best route instead of just pointing vaguely toward the door. That kind of stuff matters when you're dealing with travel stress. Is it going to be the highlight of your Berlin trip? Probably not. But will it give you a comfortable base to explore one of Europe's most interesting cities without breaking the bank or dealing with any unpleasant surprises? Absolutely.
Visitors often choose Berlin apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent German capital.

The location is perfect near the city center, the breakfast was nice with variety of options and the staff was really helpful.
Location, breakfast
It was so close to Alexandraplatz with the tram stop directly outside the front door. The beds were comfy and the shower was really good. The staff were very helpful and let us use the bag drop after checking out. The breakfast was nice and we left for the day feeling full!
Nice location and clean rooms.
Tram/public transport constant and right outside building. I also walked into Alekzanderplatz which was not to far.
Hotel was very well located, clean, warm and friendly.
Great location, so close to the city centre . Clean and comfortable room & bathroom.
The room was so new, breakfast was great.
The location are good its a walking distance of shopping malls/Trains/Trams/Tv Tower mostly in everything you want to go and do
The hotel has superb breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, and an excellent location. The room is comfortable for a short stay. We booked a mobility access room by mistake, but we enjoyed the spare space, especially in the bathroom.
