Hapimag Berlin Gendarmenmarkt
About
Look, I've stayed at a lot of places in Berlin, and Hapimag Berlin Gendarmenmarkt just gets it right in a way that's hard to explain until you're actually there. The location on Kronenstrasse is honestly perfect – you're literally a two-minute walk from Gendarmenmarkt square, which I mean, if you haven't seen it at night with the French and German cathedrals all lit up, you're missing out. But here's the thing that really sold me: you can walk to Museum Island in about ten minutes, and Friedrichstrasse station is right there when you need to hop on the U-Bahn.
The hotel itself feels more like a well-designed apartment building than your typical tourist trap. The lobby's got this understated elegance – no marble everywhere or over-the-top chandeliers, just clean lines and actually comfortable seating where you might want to sit with a coffee. My room was bigger than I expected (honestly, Berlin hotel rooms can be tiny), and the windows opened properly, which sounds small but made such a difference on those warm summer evenings. The bathroom had one of those rain showerheads that actually works, not the pathetic trickle you sometimes get. I will say the air conditioning was a bit temperamental – worked fine, but took forever to cool things down initially.
What really impressed me was how quiet it stays despite being right in Mitte. You'd think with all the restaurants and bars around (Zur Letzten Instanz is literally around the corner – oldest restaurant in Berlin, by the way), it would be noisy, but the windows block out most of the street sounds. The staff knows their stuff too – when I asked about getting to Teufelsberg, the guy at the front desk didn't just hand me a generic map, he actually explained the S-Bahn connections and mentioned which entrance to use. Small thing, but it shows they actually live in this city. Parking's available if you're driving, though honestly, you won't need a car from here. The breakfast spread was solid – proper German breads, decent coffee, fresh fruit – nothing revolutionary but done well. You know what though? Sometimes that's exactly what you want after a long day of walking around the city. The whole place just feels... reliable, I guess. Like someone thought through what travelers actually need instead of what looks good in photos.

Staff very helpful, great location and all the facilities you need
Great location for exploring central Berlin
Great!
Super location and great apartment
Superb
It is so close to Checkpoint Charlie. You can go to a lot of attractions on foot. There is a closed parking garage and you can rent it for 15 euros daily. There is a dishwasher and two tablets for it are ready to use. The staff is so kind.
There is no washing machine. Especially missing the iron is an important lackness for the facility. It is a must-have item for any type of booking facility. There is one filter and one capsule coffee machine. However there is not any coffee in the kitchen. If the facility grants some ground or capsule coffee, this would be very flattering for the guests.
Nothing like it, if you get a good mattress.
Location, comfort and expensive
Mattresses were worn out, late check-in and early check-out.
Superb
First of all great location, if it's your first time at Berlin that would be the perfect place to stay, quite large apartment with every thing you need, you can use the equipment to make your food easily, friendly staff at the reception, I couldn't ask for more.
There is no daily cleaning, but if you ask during the day it will be done.

Absolutely perfect.
Everything! Great location. Easy check in and out. Perfect facilities and the apartment was beautifully set up to facilitate our almost two year old. Lovely and clean with perfect kitchen and equipment. Wonderful amount of space and storage. AMAZING communication with the property, even out of hours. Could not recommend this property more!!
Nothing
Nice Place, Good Location, Clean But Rude Receptonist.
Location, Cleanliness, Ease of Access, Living Space and Facilities nearby were all good. Nice place if you would like to stay in the center.
The girl at the reception was very ill-mannered and tried to argue and lecture me about small things like forgetting to bring the paper from the room (not my job) and how the invoices work if I booked through booking.com. Later I realised she did not have proper access to generate invoices and she was on Holiday and came to work despite that. Nevertheless, not very well behaved, killed the enjoyment and stay of the property.
Warm welcome at the reception desk and good location and space
The gentleman at the reception ( Italian guy) was exceptional. So nice and welcomed ; he was doing his best to help . What a luck to have this man in the team .
Check in with a code as the reception was closed at 6.00pm .
