Holiday Inn Berlin City-West by IHG
About
You know what? I'll be honest – when I first saw the Holiday Inn Berlin City-West's address on Rohrdamm, I wasn't exactly thrilled. Spandau isn't the first district that comes to mind when you think "exciting Berlin adventure," but actually, this turned out to work in the hotel's favor. The area's pretty quiet (which means you'll actually sleep), and there's something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels more like residential Berlin instead of the tourist circus around Unter den Linden.
The hotel itself sits in this sort of business park setup – nothing fancy from the outside, but once you're inside, it's got that reliable Holiday Inn vibe that honestly just works. The lobby smells like that universal hotel blend of cleaning products and coffee, and check-in was surprisingly smooth even when I arrived during what seemed like rush hour for business travelers. My room was on the fourth floor facing away from the main road, and I mean, thank god for that because Rohrdamm can get busy with traffic heading toward the city center. The room was spacious enough that I didn't feel like I was living in a shoebox – you can actually open your suitcase without doing gymnastics around the bed. The bathroom was modern, good water pressure (always a win), and they'd clearly renovated recently because everything felt fresh.
Here's the thing about this location that took me a day to figure out – you're actually pretty well connected to the rest of Berlin once you know the system. There's a bus stop practically outside the door that'll get you to Spandau S-Bahn station in about ten minutes, and from there you can shoot straight into Mitte or wherever you need to go. Plus, if you're driving, parking here is free and stress-free, which is basically a miracle in Berlin. The breakfast was... well, it's a Holiday Inn breakfast, so you know what you're getting – decent coffee, plenty of options, and it'll fuel you for the day without breaking the bank. Staff seemed genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. I asked about getting to Charlottenburg for dinner one night and the front desk guy actually pulled out his phone to check the current S-Bahn schedule for me. Small thing, but it mattered. Look, this isn't going to be the most Instagram-worthy hotel you've ever stayed in, and you're not stumbling out the front door into Museum Island, but sometimes you just want a solid, comfortable base that doesn't cost a fortune and actually lets you sleep. If that sounds good to you – and especially if you're here on business or planning to explore beyond just the main tourist spots – this place delivers.

Good Hotel, great breakfast!
Perfect location to go anywhere!
Nothing, Hotel is great. Even though slippers would be nice.. And staff could be more sincere, seems they don’t care..
Very good
For me, easy access siemens office
The breakfast offers limited variety with no live cooking or counter service. Additionally, the location is outside the city, with few shopping options nearby. Not good for Indians
Great hotel and friendly staff
Location great , clean good sized room Wonderful breakfast , staff very friendly
Only comment I would have that I think the additional 20,- for breakfast and 20,- parking is kinda expensive….. if each would be around 12,50 would be more fair never gonna eat 20,- of breakfast or park for a evening/night for 20,- but aye
Good place to stay
The staff was good and the room was nice and clean The day I arrived there was a power outage in the hotel but the staff were really nice and mentioned that this never happened before and sorted the situation ones the power was back
I booked the room with an access to a gym but unfortunately the gym was under maintenance through my whole booking
Very good
Nice place, close to U-bahn station. Great personel.
Comfortable hotel with good value for money
Great value for money. A nice, spacious hotel with unlimited access to the gym, pool area, and sauna. The room is cozy, the bed is comfortable, and you can make tea or coffee right in the room — or enjoy it in the beautiful lobby instead. I’d be interested in discussing a possible collaboration and creating content for you — feel free to reach out if you’re interested.
This isn’t a complaint, just a few notes for future guests: – On Saturday before closing time, the pool area gets quite crowded. It’s best to go right after check-in — we were lucky and had the place almost to ourselves. – In the women’s changing room, the lockers don’t lock. In the men’s, bring a 2-euro coin. – I couldn’t find a way to buy flip-flops for the pool area, but it’s fine without them. – Towels are available downstairs, but they’re not always restocked — better to take one from your room just in case. – The dining system (aside from breakfast) isn’t very clear. I wasn’t sure if I could have dinner at the hotel, but luckily there are many great restaurants nearby with large portions at good prices. Minus: The water bottle in the room is overpriced and quite worn. It was listed at €4.50, but didn’t look appealing at all. It’s easier and better to just walk to the nearest shop and get proper water there.
Very nice experience
I should have been informed in advance that room charges are exclusive of breakfast
Met all expectations.
The location was very good for where we wanted to be. Staff were efficient, room was clean and a good size.
The gym was limited, although at least you had a gym.
