Hotel Delta am Potsdamer Platz
About
You know what struck me first about Hotel Delta am Potsdamer Platz? It's actually tucked away on Pohlstr., which means you get that prime Mitte location without being right in the chaos of the main square. I mean, you're literally a three-minute walk from all the Potsdamer Platz action – the Sony Center, that massive train station, the whole tourist circus – but when you step back onto your quiet side street, it feels like you can actually breathe again.
The hotel itself is honestly what I'd call "no-nonsense comfortable." It's a solid 3-star that doesn't try to be something it's not, and there's something refreshing about that in Berlin where everything seems to be either aggressively hip or trying too hard to impress. The rooms are clean and well-maintained (I stayed on the fourth floor and barely heard any street noise, which is saying something in this city), and the staff actually knows the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this amazing little Turkish place on Bülowstraße that I never would've found otherwise. The check-in was smooth, no weird delays or confusing key card situations that seem to plague half the hotels I stay at these days.
What really works about this place is the location specifics that most people don't think about until they're there. You've got the U2 and S-Bahn literally around the corner at Potsdamer Platz station, but here's the thing – you can also easily walk to Checkpoint Charlie (about 10 minutes) or cut through to Kreuzberg for dinner without dealing with public transport. The breakfast room overlooks the quiet courtyard, and honestly, starting your morning there with decent coffee while planning your day feels pretty civilized. It's not fancy – think continental breakfast that actually has fresh bread and real butter, not those weird individually wrapped everything situations. I stayed there in September when Berlin was still warm but not sweltering, and the whole area had this great energy of locals mixing with visitors without feeling completely overrun. The 7.4 rating makes perfect sense to me – it's above average because everything works and the location is genuinely great, but it's not hitting those higher numbers because, well, it's not trying to be a boutique experience or luxury anything. Sometimes that's exactly what you want.

Was a good stay. Love the location
Promptness of services and good breakfast
The room size was too small
Very good
place is really close to ubhan, and have gardens near and postdammer platz, easy to find, plenty of small take away restaurants and convenience shops.
Decent place to a 1 day trip on a budget.
The price was fair, location was decent and the room was ready at 11:00am which was a pleasant surprise.
Transport wasn’t as close as we would like, but not a bummer as we use cabs quite a lot. The room was simple, but again you got what you pay for, so fair for the price.
Very good
good value for money and very helpful staff
Good stay
•Clean and warm •Friendly staff
•Location is not the best •A bit loud at night
Well worth a visit
Lovely staff, great location and good breakfast
The pillows were rubbish and the room a wee bit too hot.
Good
Location and nice staff
The air ventelator in bathroom was not working. So the room has bad smell from the bathroom. The room was very warm. The clean towels had strange not good smell. I expected more compared to the money paid.
Very good
The employee I have been in contact with was very kind and helpful. There was enough space and it was really clean. We could sleep well. There was a small desk which made my working on the laptop great. Also, we asked for a double bed for a couple, and a baby bed. They wrote they could not manage a baby bed on such a short notice, and we were upgraded I guess to a room with a double and a single bed - we did not need / use it, but I did appreciate their "Entgegenkommen". I presume I will visit this hotel again, for it is close to the Romanian consulate, which I have to visit from time to time.
Very good
The staff was very friendly, and the room was very clean
It was a lovely hotel with lovely staff in a lovely location and we would stay there again
The staff were polite and helpful The location was excellent for the underground and really nice places to eat and drink The rooms were clean daily and we got fresh towels even though we were happy to use them for a couple of days.
It was exceptionally hot when we stayed and the room was uncomfortably warm. We were given an extra fan but air conditioning would have made it a 10/10.
