Large, comfortable and luxurious flat in Berlin Center, Prenzlauer Berg

Look, I've stayed in a lot of places in Berlin, but this flat on Griebenowstraße absolutely nailed it. You know that feeling when you walk into a space and immediately think "okay, I could actually live here"? That's exactly what happened. The apartment is genuinely spacious – and I mean actually spacious, not just "spacious for Berlin" where you can touch both walls with your arms spread out. We're talking proper rooms with high ceilings that make you feel like you're in one of those gorgeous Altbau buildings that somehow survived everything this city's been through.

What really got me was how they managed to make it feel luxurious without being stuffy. The furniture is comfortable enough that I actually wanted to hang out in the living room instead of just collapsing on the bed after walking around all day. And honestly, the kitchen – you can cook a real meal here, which is rare for short-term rentals. I mean, there's proper counter space and everything isn't crammed into a corner. The whole place just feels thoughtfully put together, like someone who actually understands what travelers need designed it.

The location is what really makes this place special though. Griebenowstraße is this quiet residential street, but you're literally a five-minute walk from Kollwitzplatz where all the good Saturday markets happen. You can grab fresh bread and actually decent coffee without dealing with tourist crowds, then wander over to Kastanienallee when you want more action. I loved that you could walk to Hackescher Markt in about fifteen minutes – perfect for those nights when you want to be in the thick of things, but then you come back to this peaceful tree-lined street where you can actually sleep. The S-Bahn connections are solid too; Prenzlauer Allee station gets you anywhere in the city without the hassle of multiple transfers.

What surprised me most was how quiet it stays, even on weekends. Berlin can be intense, so having a place that feels like a proper retreat makes all the difference. The whole building has that solid, old-school construction that keeps street noise to a minimum. Check-in was smooth – none of that awkward hunting around for key boxes or waiting for someone to show up. With a 9.6 rating, I expected it to be good, but it genuinely exceeded what I thought I'd get for the price point in this part of the city.
