LoftBrücke, Apartment am Platz der Luftbrücke
About
You know what? I wasn't expecting much from LoftBrücke when I first booked it – I mean, the name alone sounds like something you'd find in a design magazine, not necessarily somewhere you'd actually want to stay. But honestly, this little apartment near Platz der Luftbrücke completely surprised me in the best way possible.
The location is actually pretty brilliant, though you might not realize it at first glance. Platz der Luftbrücke isn't exactly tourist central, which is sort of the point – you're staying where actual Berliners live and work, not in some sanitized hotel district. The square itself has this understated memorial vibe (it's named after the Berlin Airlift, if you're into history), but what I really loved was how everything felt genuinely local. There's a solid Turkish bakery just around the corner where the guy behind the counter started recognizing me after day two, and you're close enough to Tempelhof that you can actually walk over and watch people flying kites on the old runway – which, let me tell you, is weirdly magical at sunset.
The apartment itself has that converted loft feel that works way better than it should. High ceilings, decent natural light, and – this might sound random but hear me out – really good water pressure in the shower. The kitchen's small but functional if you're planning to grab groceries from the Edeka down the street, though honestly, with all the good food nearby, I barely used it except for morning coffee. One thing to note: it can get a bit echoey when your upstairs neighbors are moving around, but nothing that would keep you awake unless you're an incredibly light sleeper. The WiFi was solid throughout my stay, which matters if you're trying to get any work done, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no weird key pickup drama or confusing instructions.
What really sold me on this place was how it struck that perfect balance between feeling like you're actually living in Berlin versus just visiting it. You're not in Mitte dealing with tourist crowds, but you're not stuck in some far-flung suburb either. The S-Bahn connections are genuinely convenient without the area feeling overrun, and there's something nice about coming back to a neighborhood that feels like it has its own rhythm. Plus, at this price point for what you get – and with ratings consistently in the 8+ range – it's honestly hard to argue with the value. I'd definitely stay here again, probably for longer next time.
Early hotels booking in Berlin is essential during major events like the Berlinale Film Festival, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city's renowned nightlife and cultural scene.

Our experience was great, the apartment has everything one would need for a short stay here. The location was amazing, there are a lot of public transport stops and restaurants just around the corner.
Very cute apartment in a great neighborhood.
The location was great, very easy to get into the city centre. Easy to get inside and we were allowed in a little early which was really appreciated as it was raining hard. The loft bed was very comfortable and it was enormous. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed to eat in a couple of times.
Location is great- right near the station and shops. The bed is very comfortable and large. Lots of towels and bedding is provided. Great and quick contact with the host. We left luggage there after check out which was very useful.
Near to the metro station. Easy access. Classy look.
This was a lovely place to stay for a short city break in Berlin. It’s well equipped and very stylish. It’s a short trip on the U-bahn south of the main city but it’s an easy trip to make and you have a good balance between feeling like you’re in a city but also having a little greenery around and feeling you’re in a less touristy area. The host was helpful and on hand if needed.
This property was well-appointed with everything needed for our three night stay. The beds and linens were wonderful. Having a kettle and toaster with small refrigerator was perfect for us to have a small breakfast daily before setting out. The property is near everything! Just a short walk to VictoriaPark, essential! There were plenty of restaurants, shopping, and markets nearby.
Location, nice decor, clean and tidy.
The place is fantastic. Brigitte is a really nice person and she helped me all the time with anything at her incredible apartment. Google maps sends you to the adjacent street but with just walking a few steps you would be in the front door. I definitely would come back here
