Miles Hotel Berlin
About
You know what? Miles Hotel Berlin surprised me. I wasn't expecting much from a 3-star place, honestly – sometimes those ratings can be pretty hit or miss – but this one actually gets the basics right in a way that makes you feel comfortable without trying too hard to impress.
The thing about Berlin is that you want to be somewhere that feels authentically part of the city, not some sterile international chain where you could be anywhere in the world. Miles Hotel has that slightly worn-around-the-edges charm that somehow works perfectly here. The lobby's got this understated, almost industrial vibe that reminds you you're in Berlin without beating you over the head with it. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no upselling, no lengthy explanations of amenities you'll never use, just friendly staff who seemed to actually know the neighborhood when I asked about getting around.
The rooms are clean and functional, which I mean as a compliment. Sometimes you just want a good bed, decent wifi, and a bathroom that works properly, and that's exactly what you get. The walls are a bit thin – you might hear your neighbors if they're particularly chatty – but honestly, that's pretty standard for this price range in Berlin. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details: proper blackout curtains (crucial if you're dealing with jet lag), outlets where you actually need them, and a shower with decent water pressure. The 7.7 rating makes sense to me – it's not going to blow your mind, but there's nothing fundamentally wrong with the experience either.
I think Miles Hotel works best for people who want a solid base to explore from rather than a destination in itself. Berlin's public transport is fantastic, so you don't need to be right in Mitte to enjoy the city, and honestly, staying somewhere that feels more residential gives you a better sense of how locals actually live. The breakfast was surprisingly decent – nothing fancy, but fresh bread and good coffee, which is really all you need before heading out to wander around Kreuzberg or spend the day at Museum Island. The staff seemed genuinely happy to give recommendations too, which you don't always get at larger hotels where everyone's reading from the same script.
To book a hotel in Berlin during the famous Berlin International Film Festival season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts culture enthusiasts and history lovers from around the world.

We stay here regularly. Everything is good.
Even though the facility is older, it is better than adequately maintained and is very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Loved the convenience of the location.
Nice and clean, relatively big room. Friendly staff, location near a railway and bus station
Very good location.
Breakfast is good enough for a reasonable price
Friendly staff, nice bathroom, close to the train station!
Great location near city train yet quiet, nice personal touch by host and family
Clean and Comfort, I would book it again for my next trip to Berlin
Late evening Checkin with doorcode was easy. Free parking on the street available. Quiet neighborhood. Good location to visit both Potsdam and Berlin
The property is located in a residential area and walking distance to the S-Bahn station of Lichterfelde-Ost, thus one has easy access to direct public transport into the centre of Berlin. Additionally, stores and restaurants are located in just a few walking minutes. The reception service was very accommodating! We arrived at midnight and were provided with the code of the entrance door, room number and location of the key several weeks ahead of arrival.
