Modern building with vertical garden & 2 bedrooms
About
You know what caught me off guard about this place? Walking up to 86a Reichenberger, I was expecting just another Berlin apartment conversion, but this building actually has this stunning vertical garden climbing up the facade that makes the whole street feel different. I mean, Reichenberger can be pretty gritty in spots – it's right in that sweet spot where Friedrichshain meets Kreuzberg – but this place sort of rises above all that urban chaos in the most literal way.
The two-bedroom setup is honestly perfect if you're traveling with friends or need space to spread out after long days exploring the city. What I really appreciated was how they've managed to keep that modern, clean aesthetic without making it feel sterile or hotel-chain generic. The windows are huge, which matters more than you'd think when you're staying in Berlin – the light here can be pretty moody, especially in winter months. From the upper floors, you actually get glimpses of the neighborhood's character: the mix of Turkish bakeries, vintage shops, and that constant stream of cyclists that defines this part of town. Speaking of which, the bike situation here is solid – there's decent storage, and you're perfectly positioned to ride pretty much anywhere in the city without dealing with tourist-heavy areas.
Location-wise, this is where local knowledge really pays off. Sure, you're not stumbling distance from Brandenburg Gate, but honestly? That's a good thing. You're about a five-minute walk to Görlitzer Park (which gets interesting after dark, just so you know), and the U-Bahn connections from Görlitzer Bahnhof or Schlesisches Tor get you anywhere you need to go quickly. What's really nice is that you're in actual Berlin – the kind of neighborhood where people live and work, not just snap photos. There's this great little späti right around the corner that stays open late, and the coffee situation on this stretch of Reichenberger is surprisingly good. The area can get a bit lively on weekend nights – it's Kreuzberg, after all – but it's more fun neighborhood energy than obnoxious party noise.
The building itself feels solid and well-maintained, which isn't always a given in Berlin's rental market. Check-in was smooth, and I got the sense that whoever runs this place actually cares about the details. That 9.9 rating isn't just inflated reviews – you can feel the attention in small things like the quality of the linens, the water pressure (seriously good), and the fact that everything just works properly. It's the kind of place where you settle in quickly and start feeling like a temporary local rather than a tourist passing through.

The hosts were extremely lovely and helpful, if we ever return to Berlin we will strongly consider staying again.
Very modern, lovely extra large comfortable beds. Two toilets which is nice. Everything was easy and clean. The modern elevator was nice, everything fit in easily without having to take multiple trips. The building itself is very quiet inside.
The area was a very busy area but became quieter around 11pm. It’s a colourful part of town. Lack of washing machine. But this was only a small issue as there was a very clean and large laundry close by.
A beautiful apartment in a good location
Location was good and the apartment was gorgoeous. It felt real homely with everything you could possibly need! The best thing though was the host ... Katarina was so lovely and gave us some really great tips/recommendations!
Absolutely nothing about this accomodation was bad.

Great time, great place.
The apartment was lovely and Katerina is real super host! Nice area, easy to get by.
A beautiful flat with a super helpful host.
This was a very clean, beautifully decorated apartment. There were lots of thoughtful touches - drinks in the fridge and coffee pods by the machine so we didn’t need to go out straight away on arrival. Both tastefully decorated bedrooms were a good size and furnished with good hanging and storage space. We enjoyed a cuppa in the lovely lounge and on the balcony, admiring the vertical garden. Katarina is a super host. She contacted us before our arrival to give us the lowdown on getting there from the airport and then stayed to answer our many questions regarding buses, the Wall, gig venues etc… afterwards. She also kept in contact during our stay to make sure everything was ok.
There was nothing to dislike!
Bra kommunikationer i närheten. Mysigt café i samma hus, med färskt bröd och gott kaffe.
Allt var mycket bra!
