You're literally a two-minute walk from some of the best Turkish food in the city – and I mean the real stuff, not tourist versions. There's this bakery around the corner that opens ridiculously early and makes these incredible börek that become your breakfast routine whether you planned it or not. The U-Bahn connection at Moritzplatz gets you anywhere in the city without much fuss, though honestly, you'll probably find yourself just wandering around Kreuzberg more than you expected. The whole Oranienstraße strip is right there with its vintage shops and that particular Berlin mix of grungy and sophisticated that somehow works perfectly together. I spent way more time than planned just sitting in the little cafes watching the neighborhood do its thing – students, artists, families, old Turkish guys playing backgammon, all somehow coexisting in this beautifully chaotic way that makes you feel like you're actually experiencing Berlin rather than just checking it off a list.
