Nena Apartments Moritzplatz
About
You know what, I wasn't expecting much from Nena Apartments when I first walked up to the building on Moritzplatz – I mean, it's right in the thick of Kreuzberg, and honestly, the area can look a bit rough if you don't know it. But here's the thing about this neighborhood: it's got this incredible energy that you either love or hate, and once you settle into these apartments, you start to get why people become obsessed with this part of Berlin.
The apartments themselves are exactly what you'd want for a proper stay in the city – not some cramped hotel room where you're tripping over your suitcase, but actual space to spread out. I had one of the larger units, and the kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped (though I'll be honest, the coffee maker looked like it had seen better days). What really got me was how quiet it was inside despite being surrounded by all the Moritzplatz chaos. The windows must be decent quality because you can barely hear the late-night crowds stumbling between bars, which is saying something in this area. The whole place has this lived-in feel that's way more comfortable than those sterile business hotels – you know, slightly worn furniture that's actually cozy rather than trying too hard to impress.
But let's talk about why you'd actually want to stay here beyond just having a decent place to sleep. You're literally a two-minute walk from some of the best Turkish food in the city – and I mean the real stuff, not tourist versions. There's this bakery around the corner that opens ridiculously early and makes these incredible börek that become your breakfast routine whether you planned it or not. The U-Bahn connection at Moritzplatz gets you anywhere in the city without much fuss, though honestly, you'll probably find yourself just wandering around Kreuzberg more than you expected. The whole Oranienstraße strip is right there with its vintage shops and that particular Berlin mix of grungy and sophisticated that somehow works perfectly together. I spent way more time than planned just sitting in the little cafes watching the neighborhood do its thing – students, artists, families, old Turkish guys playing backgammon, all somehow coexisting in this beautifully chaotic way that makes you feel like you're actually experiencing Berlin rather than just checking it off a list.

The apartment was in a great location, quiet, and clean.
Everything was good. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen had all the furniture, location also was nice.
Comfortable, well designed, fully equipped kitchenette (there was even a toaster), very clean, and calm place.
Lovely location. Easy check in. Huge apartment and very very comfortable.
Very good location, right next to the metro, and close to lots of bars, restaurants, supermarkets - yet so very quiet, no noise from the street! It felt we were on the edge of the craziness in Kreuzberg. Very easy access to various parts in Berlin. Also very warm room with adjustable heating (this was great as it was freezing outside and snowing). I loved the big windows that allowed natural light in, yet the blackout curtains worked great to not disturb your sleep. Also, was surprised that hardly heard any noise from the other rooms. The lady at the reception was very helpful and attentive. The room had everything we needed for our 5-night stay.
easy check in+out, good room size, clean, comfortable, decently sized fridge and good cooking equipment, friendly staff, really nice neighbourhood
It’s close location to the train. The apartment was clean, comfortable, had all the amenities we needed and it was quiet.
Clean new and modern. The people at the reception, especially the Greek girl, were super friendly and helpful!
Close to metro, excellent staff, well appointed, clean
Convenient location, great facilities and everything was available either in the room or additionally downstairs. No need to ask anyone, everything was organised to help make the whole process as easy as possible. They are clearly experienced as they thought of basically all details for you.
