NH Berlin Kurfürstendamm
About
You know what caught me off guard about the NH Berlin Kurfürstendamm? It's actually got this understated confidence that works really well in a city where so many hotels are either trying too hard to be hip or leaning into that corporate chain vibe. I mean, it's definitely part of a chain, but they've managed to make it feel like it belongs on the Ku'damm instead of just being dropped there.
The location is honestly pretty sweet – you're right in the thick of things on Kurfürstendamm, which locals just call Ku'damm (and you should too if you don't want to sound like a tourist). Walking out the front door, you're literally surrounded by that classic Berlin mix of high-end shopping and remnants of the city's wild past. The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church is just a short stroll away, and I love how you can duck into the Europa-Center when it's raining – it's this slightly dated shopping center that somehow feels more authentic than the newer places. The rooms are solid without being flashy, and here's something I appreciated: the windows actually open properly, which you'd be surprised how rare that is in modern hotels. Sure, it means you'll hear some street noise (it's Berlin, not a monastery), but honestly, the sound of the city is part of the experience. The beds are comfortable in that European firm-but-not-hard way, and the bathrooms are well-designed – someone clearly thought about where you'd actually put your toiletries instead of just making it look pretty.
What really won me over though was how the staff handled the little things. Check-in was smooth even when I arrived earlier than expected, and the front desk folks knew the neighborhood well enough to give actual recommendations instead of just pointing to a tourist map. They steered me toward this great bakery around the corner that I never would have found otherwise. The breakfast spread is decent – not groundbreaking, but you won't leave hungry, and the coffee is actually good, which matters more than people think. I also noticed they keep the lobby busy but not chaotic, with enough seating that you can actually work or meet someone without feeling like you're in everyone's way. It's the kind of place where business travelers and tourists seem to coexist pretty naturally. With an 8.1 rating, it's clearly doing something right, and honestly, that feels about accurate – it's a really solid choice that delivers on what it promises without any nasty surprises.

The Hotel was clean, modern & very well maintained. The staff were very friendly & helpful, especially Essam who works at the reception, he facilitated all our requests & made sure we are more than comfortable. Guys like Essam would make us visit NH hotels again.
Top location, rich breakfast, clean rooms, espresso machine in the room. Amenities such as shampoo and soap were high quality ones. You are at the heart of Ku'damm.
The rooms were spacious with big and very comfy beds. The staff was very friendly and location just excellent!
Excellent breakfast choice and served until 10.00 on weekdays. The reception staff were very helpful, after my companion's bag did not arrive at the airport, although the problem wasn't resolved.
Location and staff are excellent!
Perfect location for exploring Berlin. It was easy for us to get anywhere pretty fast. Breakfast is good. There is opportunity to get room with train tracks view. We never had problems with sleep though.
