About

First Impressions

When I first walked into PAS 17 Apartment Berlin – cozy apartment, I honestly wasn't expecting much from a three-star place in Pankow. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages. This apartment has that lived-in charm that makes you feel like you're staying at a friend's place rather than some sterile hotel room. The building itself is classic Berlin — solid, unpretentious, and tucked away on a quiet residential street that feels refreshingly removed from the tourist chaos.

The Pankow Advantage

I'll be honest, Berlin can be overwhelming, but Pankow is where locals actually live their lives. You're about 20 minutes from Alexanderplatz by S-Bahn, which sounds far until you realize you're escaping the constant buzz of Mitte without sacrificing access. The neighborhood has this authentic East Berlin vibe — think corner bakeries where they know your order, tree-lined streets perfect for morning walks, and that sense of discovery you get when you're not following a guidebook. I actually found myself looking forward to coming "home" each evening, which rarely happens when I'm traveling.

Living Space That Actually Works

The apartment itself feels thoughtfully put together rather than just furnished. There's a proper kitchen where you can actually cook — not just heat up instant noodles — which saved me a fortune during my week-long stay. The living area has enough space to spread out, and I mean really spread out, not that cramped hotel room feeling where your suitcase becomes a permanent floor fixture. What struck me most was how everything just worked — the WiFi was solid, the shower had decent pressure, and the bed was comfortable enough that I didn't wake up feeling like I'd been wrestling with it all night.

The Practical Stuff

Here's something I appreciated — parking isn't the nightmare it is in central Berlin. You can actually find street spots without circling for an hour, though I'd still recommend public transport for getting around the city. The S-Bahn station is a pleasant 10-minute walk, and there's a Rewe supermarket practically around the corner for groceries. I also discovered this little Turkish restaurant two blocks away that became my regular dinner spot — the kind of place you stumble upon and then guard jealously from other tourists.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn't going to win any design awards, but it delivers on what matters most — comfort, space, and that rare feeling of actually living in Berlin rather than just visiting it. The 9.0 rating makes perfect sense once you spend a few days here. Couples seem to particularly love the setup, and I can see why — there's something romantic about having your own little Berlin hideaway where you can cook breakfast together and plan your day without rushing to check out. It's the kind of place that makes you consider extending your stay, which is honestly the best compliment I can give any accommodation.

The perfect apartment in the perfect location. The center of Berlin is 30 minutes on foot, everything is close by. Very quiet apartment. There were 4 of us, but everyone felt their own space. Special thanks for the hospitality, for the apples, for the care and everything you need in the apartment. Highly recommended!

In de buurt was een bakker waar we konden ontbijten. Er was een leuk park in de buurt met speeltuin en skateplek. De buurt is heel aangenaam, ook in de late avond.
