Pension Tempelhof
About
You know what struck me first about Pension Tempelhof? It's one of those places that doesn't try too hard – and honestly, that's exactly what I needed after dealing with overly polished chain hotels. The building has this lived-in charm that actually makes sense when you realize it's been hosting travelers for decades. It's not fancy (we're talking solid 3-star territory here), but there's something refreshing about a place that knows exactly what it is.
The rooms are pretty straightforward – clean, functional, with that slightly dated European pension vibe that I've grown to appreciate. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, and the windows actually open properly, which is more of a luxury than you'd think these days. I mean, the décor isn't going to win any design awards, but everything works and feels genuine. The staff runs the place like they actually care about it, not like they're just clocking in. Check-in was smooth, and they seemed to know the neighborhood inside and out – always a good sign. The 7.3 rating makes sense to me; it's not perfect, but it delivers on what matters without any unpleasant surprises.
What I really ended up loving was how the place sits in its neighborhood. You're not in some tourist bubble – you can walk around and actually feel like you're somewhere real, with proper local cafés and shops that aren't just selling postcards. Mornings are pretty quiet, which was perfect for me since I'm not great with early noise. There's decent parking nearby (not always guaranteed, but usually manageable), and the whole area has this authentic feel that's getting harder to find. Look, if you're expecting marble bathrooms and room service, this isn't your spot. But if you want a clean, honest place to stay that doesn't cost a fortune and puts you somewhere interesting – well, Pension Tempelhof does that job really well. It's the kind of place I'd actually book again, which says more than any fancy amenities list ever could.

Wonderful service, worth every penny! Easy to check in even though we arrived late, and we got a safe place to park two motorcycles upon arrival. Great wifi connection. Easy to go by train to the city due to the distance to the subway.
Comfortable matrace topper
In the heart of Templehof, close to the U-Bahn. Good Value for money , secure and slightly quirky pension located in a leafy road, close to good restaurants. Breakfast included. Yhere is a small seating area outside in a courtyard. Also an ' honesty' bar and a nice communal lounge area A pleasant stay.
We needed a place to stay in de neighbourhood of our son in Berlin.
Very nice staff! Good location, breakfast, parking.
Very good communication and complaisant with agreements. The is a solid last resort accommodation which works on short notice.
A good value B&B if you need to be in this part of the City. Remote access, very helpful management by phone, efficient rooms and good cleaning.
Very kind hostess. Good location on a quiet street and good option for free car parking. Perfect WiFi connection.
The pension is in a quiet street and it was silent. There were a lot of shops in the neigbourhood and the U-bahn station was also close. The pension is a small and friendly one.
