primeflats – Apartments Schillerpark Berlin-Wedding
About
Look, I'll be honest - when I first heard "Wedding" as a Berlin neighborhood, I thought someone was pulling my leg. But primeflats' spot near Schillerpark is actually in one of those up-and-coming areas that locals have been quietly loving for years. Wedding (pronounced "VED-ding," by the way) sits just north of Mitte, and while it doesn't have the tourist crowds of Kreuzberg, that's sort of the point.
The apartments themselves are pretty straightforward - you know what you're getting with a 3-star place, but honestly, they nail the basics. The units are clean and functional, with that distinctly German approach to efficiency that somehow makes a smaller space feel totally workable. I mean, you're not going to find marble countertops or fancy rainfall showers, but the kitchenettes are actually usable (unlike some places where the "kitchen" is basically a hot plate shoved in a corner), and the Wi-Fi doesn't cut out every five minutes. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Berlin architecture - nothing flashy, but you get the sense it'll still be standing in another century.
What really sold me on the location was stumbling across Schillerpark itself. It's this gorgeous green space that most tourists never see, complete with proper walking paths and locals actually using it for morning jogs rather than just Instagram shots. The U-Bahn connections are solid too - you can get to the city center without that exhausting schlep you'd face from some of the outer districts. Wedding has this interesting mix of Turkish bakeries, Vietnamese pho spots, and the occasional hipster coffee place that hasn't quite figured out it's supposed to be trendy yet. There's a realness to the neighborhood that you don't get in the more polished parts of Berlin, where you actually hear people speaking German on the streets instead of just English and Australian accents.
The 7.3 rating makes sense to me - it's not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises. Check-in was smooth enough, though I'd recommend arriving during normal hours since the key pickup can get a bit complicated in the evenings. Parking isn't impossible if you need it, which honestly puts it ahead of most Berlin accommodations right there. The area does get a bit quiet after dark, which some people love and others find a little too residential, but that's Wedding for you. If you want to party until 4 AM and stumble home, stay in Friedrichshain. If you want to actually sleep and explore Berlin like someone who lives there rather than just visits, this works really well.

Facilities
The apartment is not a miracle, but it fits into the description.
There was enough space for group of three. We liked the Apartment and the neighborhood was nice. There was a lot of stores and small restaurants nearby.
Close to shops and restaurants with menys from all over the world. Staying in an appartment like this makes you feel almost like a Berliner and not a tourist. It's not fancy but that's not what we were looking for. Very genuine!
Everything in the house for our needs. Close to transport and shops. Peaceful area.
Enjoyed that we stayed in Berlin Mitte in an old Hinterhause. Flat was comfortable enough, clean with basic amenities and several supermarkets in walking distance. Lots of Street food and good access to public transport.
It was cozy. Decent place to stay.
