SANA Berlin Residence
About
Look, I've stayed at my share of Berlin hotels, and the SANA Berlin Residence honestly surprised me in the best way possible. When I first walked into the lobby, I wasn't expecting much – four-star places can be hit or miss, you know? But there's something about this place that just feels... right. The design hits that sweet spot between modern and welcoming, without trying too hard to be trendy like half the boutique places around Mitte.
What really got me was how quiet it is once you're inside. I mean, Berlin can be pretty intense with all the construction and trams, but somehow they've managed to create this little bubble of calm. My room faced what I think was an interior courtyard, and honestly, I slept better there than I have anywhere in the city. The beds are actually comfortable – not those rock-hard European mattresses that leave you feeling like you went ten rounds with a boxer. And the bathrooms, well, they're generous by Berlin standards, which if you've been here, you know that's saying something.
The neighborhood placement is smart too. You're not right in the tourist chaos, but you're not stuck in some residential area wondering where the nearest U-Bahn is. I could walk to decent restaurants without needing to plan my whole evening around transportation, and there's a little café around the corner that does proper coffee – not that watery stuff some hotel breakfast buffets try to pass off. Speaking of breakfast, theirs is solid. Nothing revolutionary, but fresh bread, good cheese selection, and they actually keep the coffee hot throughout the morning rush. The staff genuinely seems to care about getting things right, which you notice in small ways – like remembering your room number after the first day, or suggesting restaurants that aren't just the obvious tourist traps. I had one guy at the front desk give me directions to a local market that I never would have found otherwise, and it ended up being a highlight of my trip. That 8.7 rating makes total sense to me – it's not trying to be the fanciest place in Berlin, but it nails the fundamentals while adding those little touches that make you want to come back next time you're in the city.

Self catering apartments within the hotel fantastic. Pool and sauna small but nice, clean, comfy loungers. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. Stylish and affordable luxury.
Good price / quality. Nice wellness.
I had another fantastic stay at this hotel, where the staff are incredibly friendly and the location is perfect. This isn’t my first visit and I’ve already booked my next stay. I really appreciate the thoughtful gesture of reserving a parking spot for a person with a disability.
Excellent apartment for 3 adults just opposite a U-Bahn station. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. A very good place to stay for a trip to Berlin.
I and my family enjoyed sauna, gym, swimming pool and apartment with two bathrooms.
Friendly helpful staff. Able to have early check in that was appreciated. Apartment comfortable, clean and good space and facilities. Pool and gym good. Pool not big enough for swimming lengths
We had booked a 2 bedroom apartment for a family birthday. When we arrived we were a bit early but we were able to check in at reception and afterwards went to the bar for a drink. Whilst sat there about half an hour later the man that checked us in came over with our keys and said our apartment was ready. Very lovely of them as it was still before check in time! Hotel was so clean and really well presented, the staff couldn’t be more attentive and were willing to help with any requests or questions we had. Shout out to Lisa for making the best espresso martinis. We highly recommend having a drink at the bar. The apartment itself was perfect and spacious, lovely sized en suites and great facilities. The location to places was easy or a quick metro ride, with a short walk to the shopping district and I would highly recommend the tapas and Italian restaurants just up the street less than a 5 min walk. Fantastic. I would highly recommended this hotel. Thanks for a great stay.
Location was good, though very pricey to travel from the airport and return. I thought it had free airport taxi when we booked it but we did not get any instructions so we booked one ourselves. 100 euros for travelling to and from the airport which we felt was pricey on top of the hotel accommodation cost. We booked a studio with sofa bed. Very small but did the job. the sofa bed was really uncomfortable though. Very clean accommodation. The spa and pool was very peaceful.
Great location, brilliant staff, great food, good facilities !
The staff are very helpful. The room is big enough. Everyday cleaning room available. The kitchen is well equipped. The bathroom includes all required. The location is good, 800 m from Kudamm.
