Stars Berlin Apartments Zillestraße
About
You know what really caught me off guard about Stars Berlin Apartments on Zillestraße? The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend's really well-organized cousin's place than some sterile hotel. I mean, it's technically a 3-star property, but honestly - that 9.0 rating makes total sense once you've been there for a night or two.
The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know Berlin even a little bit. Zillestraße puts you right in this sweet spot where you're close enough to all the action but not drowning in tourist crowds every time you step outside. I walked to Museum Island in about fifteen minutes, which was perfect for those early morning visits before the tour groups descended. The neighborhood has this authentic Berlin vibe - you'll hear actual German conversations at the corner bakery (grab the pretzels, seriously), and there's this lovely mix of young families and longtime residents. The S-Bahn connections are solid too, though I found myself walking more than I expected because the streets are just... pleasant, you know? Tree-lined, not too busy, with those classic Berlin apartment buildings that somehow manage to look both sturdy and elegant.
What really sets this place apart is how they've nailed the apartment concept without making it feel impersonal. The units have proper kitchens - not those sad hotel kitchenettes with two burners and a prayer - so you can actually cook if you want to. I ended up making coffee every morning because the setup was just so much nicer than hunting for decent coffee at 7 AM. The furnishing hits that sweet spot between modern and cozy, nothing too fancy but everything works properly. I particularly appreciated the blackout curtains (Berlin summer days are long, trust me) and the fact that the Wi-Fi actually reached every corner of the apartment. Small thing, but you'd be surprised how many places mess that up. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too - no hovering desk clerk, just clear instructions and everything ready when they said it would be. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in that area, but there are spots if you're patient, and honestly, you probably won't need a car much anyway. The only minor gripe I had was that the walls are a touch thin - you might hear your neighbors if they're particularly enthusiastic about something, but it's Berlin apartment living, not a countryside retreat.

Good transport connections. Easy to get to the airport. Host provided all required instructions and our stay was overall super comfortable.
Host allowed me to come in early, which we really appreciated. Property is in a fantastic location close to U-Bahn and lots of cafes restaurants and shops.
Situated in the central part of Berlin, near main UBahn line 7 Bismarck Straße . Close proximity to various shop and most unusual Cat Cafe around. The apartment is very well equipped for self catering offering fridge, stove, microwave and even a dishwasher. Modern bathroom and comfortable separate bedroom plus extra bed/day couch makes sleeping comfortable. The host Thomas is available and attend to your enquiries via WhatsApp.
Everything was great.
Location good, quiet and safe. Excellent instructions how to get keys.
It is a nice and cozy apartment, 5 minutes walk from the underground. The host was very attentive in making sure we found how to check in and overall extremely nice. There are plenty of shops and places to eat in the area, but taking the underground, you are 20 minutes away from Berlin's center.
Perfect instructions . It was very easy to get in the apartment. The host was very helpful with information we needed. Very good restaurants around . Few supermarkets with all you need
Great location. Very good communication via wasap. Had information card about the flat. Very easy to go to the main centre of Berlin
A beautiful apartment in a nice quiet area of Berlin. Very close to all transport links around the city. The owner gave extremely good instructions on accessing the key and apartment and the video was very useful. The apartment has everything you need. Extremely comfortable bed and well equiped kitchen. It was nice to be on the ground floor. Some lovely restaurants around the apartment and the general area gave the impression of being a small community within a large city. Lovely to just wonder around. Highly recommended.
The place was located in a quiet neighborhood. It was clean and spacious.
