The location is what really got me - Lohmeyerstraße sits right in that sweet spot of Charlottenburg where you're close enough to everything but not drowning in tourist chaos. You know how some Berlin neighborhoods feel like they're trying too hard? This isn't one of those. It's just... normal Berlin life, which I mean in the best way possible. There's a decent bakery maybe two blocks down where locals actually queue up for their morning rolls, and the U-Bahn connection is solid without being right on top of you with all that underground rumbling. I stayed here with my family last spring, and my kids could actually sleep past 7 AM - miracle territory for central Berlin, honestly.
The flat itself feels like someone's actual apartment that they decided to rent out, not some sterile corporate setup. Two proper bedrooms that can squeeze in up to six people if you don't mind cozy, though four feels more comfortable if you're planning to spend actual time there. The kitchen surprised me - it's got real pots and pans, not those flimsy things that barely heat water. We ended up cooking a few meals because, well, Berlin restaurant prices add up fast when you're feeding a group. The living area opens up nicely, perfect for those inevitable "what should we do tomorrow" conversations that happen every night on family trips. There's decent natural light too, which matters more than you think when you're dealing with Berlin's sometimes moody weather. Actually, the whole space has this lived-in comfort that makes you want to kick off your shoes and plan your next day over coffee rather than rushing out immediately.
What strikes me about this place is how it hits that middle ground between budget and bougie - the 7.8 rating makes sense because it's not trying to be something it's not. You're getting clean, functional space in a genuinely good neighborhood without paying premium prices for marble countertops you don't need anyway. The family-friendly aspect isn't just marketing speak either; there's actual room to spread out, and the noise level from neighboring units stayed reasonable even on weekend nights. Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf isn't the hippest district name to drop at dinner parties, but it's where real Berliners live and work, which means better food, normal prices, and that authentic city rhythm you can't fake. Location was great, quick walk to the U-bahn, a grocery store and restaurants. Next to beautiful Charlottenburg, park and river Spree. Apartment was quiet and clean with a full kitchen. Friendly reception and communication with the staff.

A very spacious, well equipped and quiet appartment, in a very nice area, with the Spree river at 200 meters and the Charlottenburg palace and parc 400 meters away.
A ground floor flat (with the entrance directly from the street) which has a limited natural daylight, it is a little bit dark even with all of the lights on, with no natural airflow. Generally, the appartment is very clean but it would need some cleaning/small repair works in some places. The twin bedroom has the unique, nice and large window which overlooks an area where bikes are stored, the curtains are not fitted correctly and do not cover the entire window. The main bedroom is dark, without any window. Small cups for espresso would be highly appreciated!

The place was in a great location. Quick walk to the U-bahn, Charlottenburg, a grocery store, and the river was also close. There were two bedrooms and a full kitchen, with dishwasher and all the plates, cups, pots, and pans that you could need. There was also a fan, which helped because there's no air conditioning or windows that open.
We were there in summer, and the place was damp the entire time. Our laundry did not dry fully when we hung it up (washer, but no dryer), and the worst was that the beds were damp every night. You'd lay down and your body would be a little damp. The shower was big, but the water would flow onto the regular floor in the bathroom. There was a giant squeegee there, so this is a known problem. Also the temperature control for the shower was very sensitive. One little accidental bump to the handle and the water was scalding hot. Not very safe. The one other thing to note is that the place has a giant step to get in and out.

The apartment was in a great location, just a short stroll away from the U-bahn, Charlottenburg, a grocery store, and the river. Great facilities, comfortable sofa, TV with Netflix and a nice Nespresso machine. It features two bedrooms and a fully-equipped kitchen, complete with a dishwasher and all the necessary utensils. Additionally, a fan is provided :) The staff were professional and attentive. Overall a first class experience - I highly recommend it!
