Look, I'll be honest - when I first heard "top floor penthouse," I was expecting some overpriced tourist trap. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. You walk up (and yes, there are stairs involved, so pack light), and suddenly you're stepping into what feels like someone's really cool apartment rather than a typical hotel room. The garden aspect isn't just marketing fluff either - there's this genuinely lovely outdoor space where you can actually sit with your morning coffee without feeling like you're on display for the whole neighborhood.
What really got me was how quiet it stays up there, even though you're right in the thick of things. I mean, you'll hear the city - this isn't some isolated bubble - but it's more like a gentle hum than the usual urban chaos. The 9.2 rating makes sense once you're there; it's one of those places where everything just works without being fancy about it. The host clearly knows what travelers actually need versus what hotels think we want. There's proper counter space in the bathroom (revolutionary, I know), decent water pressure, and - this might sound weird - but the lighting is actually good for getting ready. You know how most places have those harsh overhead lights that make everyone look terrible? Not here.
The garden becomes this little sanctuary, especially in the evenings when the day cools down. I found myself spending way more time there than I planned, just because it felt so removed from everything below. It's not massive or anything, but it's thoughtfully set up with actual comfortable seating and some greenery that doesn't look like it's struggling to survive. Honestly, for a 3-star place, this punches way above its weight class. The only thing I'd warn about is that it might spoil you for regular hotel rooms - there's something about having that outdoor space and the feeling of privacy that makes going back to a standard room feel pretty cramped. If you're looking for something that feels more like staying at a friend's place (a friend with good taste and a killer rooftop setup), this is your spot.

Our stay at Moritz’s Top floor Penthouse with Garden was simply fantastic. As we were staying there for more than two weeks we needed some essential amenities. And everything was available as described. Nothing was missing for one smooth and comfortable stay. About the apartment. It was very clean and welcoming. The bed is very comfortable . There is so much light, even in foggy and cloudy days. Even though the weather was a bit chilly, we felt warm inside. If you are into interior design (like me) you will highly appreciate and enjoy each and every small detail in this apartment. It was designed with so much thought and love. And the Garden on the roof - amazing! For a morning coffee, or just to take a glimpse of the city in the evening. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely with supermarkets, coffees and an amazing park where you can take a walk. Some words I cannot go without mentioning - Moritz is an amazing host. We had great communication during the whole time and he was always replying fast on all of the questions we had. The check-in/check-out process is also smooth. When we are back, we will definitely look to stay at his place again. Highly recommended!
This is a unique place, do not hesitate to book. It is airy, colorful, full of surprises. Even in grey Berlin weather it is light and cheerful. It is on the fifth floor, no lift, keep that in mind. The apartment is equipped with a smart home system that has some issues that will be dealt with according to the manager Moritz, who is very helpful. (The controls of the sound system could be more user-friendly, and the controls of the lights are tricky, it took me a couple of days to figure out -- by chance -- how the rotating disco ball above the bathtub and the lights for it can be switched on. And what would become of the world without rotating disco balls above your head during showering!). There is a splendid rooftop garden too. You will not be disappointed, but happy.

Die Wohnung ist unglaublich interessant eingerichtet, es gibt viele kleine Details zu entdecken die die Wohnung einzigartig machen. Der Dachgarten ist ein Traum, mit wundervollem Blick über Berlin. Zu beachten ist, dass man gut zu Fuß sein muss um im Haus zur Wohnung zu gelangen (5.Etage) als auch trittsicher um in der Wohnung zum Dachgarten zu kommen (selbst gebaute Wege).

Dieses Apartment wurde stylish mit viel Liebe zum Detail und handwerklichem Geschick errichtet, sodass das Auge immer wieder etwas Neues und Schönes entdeckt. Ich glaube, keinen einzigen Gegenstand von Ikea entdeckt zu haben, sondern eine geschmackvolle Einrichtung aus individuell gefertigten Einrichtungsgegenständen. Auch die Beleuchtung der Räume ist einzigartig und wieder mit geschickter Anordnung gestaltet worden. Wir waren echt begeistert.
richtig schönen Aufenhalt gehabt, die Wohnung ist einfach richtig schön, gross& gemütlich. Mit der Terasse und dem Ausblick dazu, ist das ganze einfach nicht zu toppen. Und alles am Start was man braucht, mir hats absolut an nix gefehlt. Ich würde mich daher jederzeit wieder bei Moritz einbuchen.
Die Unterkunft war sehr lustig eingerichtet. Der Grund für die Wahl. Erreichbarkeit des Vermieters 1a und super zuverlässig.
