About

First Impressions

The 2 Zimmer Apartment am Estrel Hotel sits right on Sonnenallee in Berlin's Neukölln district, and honestly, the location surprised me in the best way. You're literally next to the massive Estrel Hotel — which is actually pretty handy since you can pop over to use their facilities if needed. This three-star apartment setup feels more like staying at a friend's place than a typical hotel, which I mean, some people love and others might find a bit too casual.

The Space Itself

Walking into the room, you get that proper apartment vibe with two separate bedrooms that actually give you some breathing space. The kitchen is surprisingly well-equipped — I was able to make proper breakfast instead of just instant coffee, which saved me quite a bit of money during my stay. The whole place feels lived-in rather than sterile, and while it's not going to win any design awards, everything works as it should. You know what really stood out? The windows are big enough that you get decent natural light, which makes the space feel bigger than it actually is.

Neukölln Neighborhood

Here's the thing about staying in Neukölln — it's become one of Berlin's most interesting districts, but it still feels authentic rather than touristy. Sonnenallee itself is this fascinating mix of Middle Eastern shops, Turkish bakeries, and increasingly trendy cafes. You're about a 15-minute U-Bahn ride from Mitte, but honestly, I found myself spending more time exploring the local area than rushing into the city center. The Treptower Park is just across the river if you want some green space, and the nightlife around here is pretty solid without being overwhelming.

Practical Considerations

The parking situation is actually manageable if you're driving — street parking isn't impossible to find, though you'll want to read the signs carefully. Public transport is your friend here though; the S-Bahn connections are really good. One thing to note is that this isn't a hotel with 24-hour reception, so you'll need to coordinate your arrival time. The check-in process was smooth enough, but it does require a bit more planning than just rolling up whenever you feel like it.

Why Guests Love It

That 8.3 rating makes sense when you consider what you're getting for the price point. Couples seem to really dig the setup — having two bedrooms means you can spread out, and there's something nice about cooking breakfast together rather than dealing with crowded hotel dining rooms. The location gets consistently high marks because you're experiencing a real Berlin neighborhood while still being well-connected to everything else. It's not fancy, but it's genuine, and in a city like Berlin where authenticity matters more than polish, that actually counts for quite a lot.

Clean , comfortable and has a great view of the city of Berlin from the apartment . Free Parking was easy to find near the apartment. The apartment is modern and has a great flair which we love . The kitchen is fully equipped, unfortunately there was no coffee or tea mugs .
