2 Zimmer Apartment Charlottchen
About
Look, I've stayed in plenty of Berlin apartments over the years, and Charlottchen honestly surprised me in the best way. You know how these two-room places can feel cramped and sort of thrown together? Well, this one actually feels like someone's home – someone with really good taste, I mean. The moment you walk into the ground floor space on Goethestraße, there's this immediate sense that everything has been thought through, from the way the morning light hits the living area to how the kitchen is stocked with things you'd actually use.
The location is what really sold me though. Charlottenburg gets overlooked by tourists rushing to Mitte, but honestly? That's their loss. You're a five-minute walk from Savignyplatz – and if you don't know it, it's this lovely square with cafes that locals actually frequent, not just Instagram tourists. The S-Bahn connections are fantastic from there, but more importantly, you've got this whole neighborhood of independent bookshops, wine bars, and that amazing Saturday market on Wittenbergplatz. I found myself just wandering Kantstraße in the evenings, ducking into places I'd never have discovered staying in the touristy areas. The apartment itself sits on a quiet residential stretch, so you get proper sleep (trust me, after dealing with party hostels in Kreuzberg, this matters), but you're still connected to everything that makes Berlin worth visiting.
What struck me most was how the owners clearly understand what travelers need without making it feel sterile. The Wi-Fi actually works – I know, basic requirement, but you'd be surprised how many places mess this up. The shower has proper water pressure, there's decent coffee in the kitchen, and the beds are comfortable enough that I didn't wake up feeling like I'd been hit by a truck. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that running around the city to collect keys nonsense. It's the kind of place where you can spread out your stuff, cook a simple dinner with ingredients from the nearby KaDeWe food hall, and actually relax instead of just crash between sightseeing marathons. I mean, with a 9 rating, you'd expect it to deliver – and it really does, just in ways that feel genuine rather than flashy.

Comfortable apartment with great location
Comfortable apartment near trains, restaurants and pedestrian area with grocery stores. Adequately equipped for self-catering.
Very good
Outstanding location and friendly host
Superb
The way the flat had Old World Berlin charm. That it was the Erdegeschoss. That Brit had created a super environment.
Beds. The rest was really super.
Superb, nice place at a great price ... highly recommended.
Spacious, clean and had everything we could possibly need for a week's stay. Located on a quiet street, but good access to train links, a great range of eating places and supermarkets ( Lidl ) all within short walking distance. Altogether a great apartment.
Could have done with more than one bath towel each for a whole week . Owners/hosts seemed to be away, so only saw the son when we arrived.
Great for a family stay.
For us as a family, the location and facilities of the place were just great for our nine day stay. Went to the Deutsches Oper just down the street and enjoyed the comfortable environs around the neighborhood. Public transportation easy to access. We used bikes most of the time we were there, bit cramped in the back, but just fine. The kitchen and appliances were top notch. Thank you Brit.
Somewhat cramped in the kitchen area, but was fine for our needs. A bit removed from many of the cultural/iconic places I associate with Berlin.
Superb
This is a wonderfully comfortable place to stay in for an extended visit (a fortnight in our case). Close to shops, restaurants, pubs and a twice-weekly market, the apartment is very well equipped in terms of kitchen appliances and utensils (the coffee machine, in particular, is excellent) which make for easy self-catering. The living-cum-dining room is spacious and cozy, with soft and warm lighting and a generously-sized TV set. Access is very easy since the apartment is located on the ground floor and we particularly appreciated the storage space for our bicycles in the courtyard. The latter also contains bins which allow for the convenient disposal of rubbish and recyclable goods. All in all a gem of a place!
There were some minor aspects which we felt could be improved and these were brought to the attention of the owner.
Nice apartment in Charlottenburg
Good communication with the host, keys were in a safety deposit box. Location close to U-bahn and restaurants. Clean apartment with good facilities and good internet connection.
A bit noisy on the street side and also on the other side because of emptying of glass container early in the morning.
Very good
Great location
Relax While in Berlin
The apartment is located in the quiet residential neighbourhood of Charlottenburg, a 10 minute walk from the S bahn Station which is a 10 minute ride from the Berlin main train station. There is shopping on the pedestrian only street nearby. The apartment has a large sitting/eating area, a narrow, but functional kitchen, a modern bathroom, and a small bedroom with 2 single beds. There is a small garden area outside where we were able to relax and have snacks when it was warm enough. Twice a week there is a very large open market at the end of the street where we were able to buy fresh produce, meats, bakery items, etc. The apartment worked well for us. We could recommend the nearby restaurant, Cantinetta, for excellent Italian meals and service.
We would have appreciated a map of Berlin and an information package for nearby grocery stores and restaurants being available in the apartment.
