ackselhaus & blue Home
About
You know what caught me off guard about ackselhaus & blue Home? The name makes it sound like some trendy design concept, but honestly, it feels more like staying at your incredibly stylish friend's place – if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and actually knew how to run a proper hotel.
I mean, with a 9.0 rating, I was expecting something special, but this place really delivers on that promise without trying too hard. The whole setup has this effortless Berlin vibe that's part boutique hotel, part creative guesthouse. You'll notice it the moment you walk in – there's this relaxed energy that's distinctly different from your typical four-star chain hotel. The interiors have that perfect balance of industrial and cozy that Berlin does so well, with exposed brick here and there but not in an overdone way. Actually, the rooms feel like real spaces where people live, not hotel rooms that were designed by committee. Some have these great high ceilings that make everything feel more spacious, and the beds are genuinely comfortable – not just hotel-marketing comfortable.
What I really appreciated was how the staff actually seems to know the neighborhood. They'll point you toward the good coffee spot that's not overrun with tourists, or mention which U-Bahn line is running smoothly that day. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no upselling, no lengthy explanations of facilities you can figure out yourself. Parking can be a bit of a hunt in this part of town (honestly, that's just Berlin for you), but they'll give you the real scoop on where to find spots that won't cost you a fortune. The building itself is pretty quiet, even on weekends, which is something you definitely can't take for granted depending on where you end up in the city. I stayed during one of those busy summer weeks when Berlin gets absolutely packed, and while the common areas had some energy to them, my room stayed peaceful enough that I could actually sleep with the windows cracked open. That 4-star rating feels earned rather than inflated – it's the kind of place that gets the important stuff right without making a big deal about amenities you probably won't use anyway.

Really cool place. Highly recommend. Great location.
Very cosy and clean. Stylish. Loved art on walls.
The best location with easy access to transport. A very cool vibey neighbourhood with cafes and restaurants in walking distance. There is a traditional German restaurant next door which has delicious food and they even invited us to their NYE party which was lots of fun and we say all the locals with fireworks. Very comfortable beds and lots of space for 4/5 people. Definitely recommend!
The home is roomy, comfortable and clean. It had everything we needed for our two day trip to Berlin. It was also situated in a lovely neighborhood with good restaurants and easy access to the tram. Nice and quiet too - slept like a baby!
The home is really nice and clean. The bed very comfortable and the host absolutely lovely. Location was perfect to reach nice restaurants, cocktail bars as well as for exploring Berlin. The neighbourhood is such a gem! Highly recommended.
Wonderful location. Unique room - fabulous bathroom!
Comfortable well appointed apartment with small kitchen area. Very close to tram stop. Lots of restaurants nearby.
Excellent location, gorgeous lay out of the property with everything we needed
Very compact, it had everything you needed with a peaceful courtyard to reflect in after busy days. Stefan went out of his way to assist, nothing was too much. The location is in a beautiful calm residential area where you can experience local Berlin life.
We had a very good stay in terms of location, rooms, bathroom , comfort and cleanliness. Stephan and Anglika also were very helpful and nice, thanks to both.
