You're close enough to Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and all that main drag shopping that you can walk there when the mood strikes, but you're also perfectly positioned for the actual good stuff. Savignyplatz is right there – and I mean the real Savignyplatz experience, not just passing through. Those little wine bars tucked under the S-Bahn arches, the bookshops that stay open late, the kind of restaurants where locals argue about the wine list. Plus, you've got the Charlottenburg Palace just a pleasant walk away through some of Berlin's nicest residential streets. I actually discovered my favorite Berlin café (this tiny place on Kantstraße that does proper breakfast until 3 PM) just by wandering around the neighborhood in the morning. The S-Bahn connection at Savignyplatz means you're never more than 15 minutes from anywhere you want to be – Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg, even out to the lakes if you're feeling ambitious.
