ADAPT APARTMENTS BERLIN – Adlershof
About
You know what caught me off guard about ADAPT APARTMENTS BERLIN - Adlershof? How quiet it actually is out there. I mean, when you hear "Berlin," you're probably thinking bustling city center and trams rattling past your window at all hours, but Adlershof sits in this surprisingly peaceful corner of the southeast that feels almost suburban – in the best possible way.
The thing is, this isn't just some random residential area they stuck a hotel in. Adlershof is actually Berlin's big science and technology hub, so you've got this interesting mix of modern research facilities and green spaces that somehow works really well. The apartments themselves feel properly thought out, not like those cookie-cutter extended stays where everything's beige and soulless. I honestly appreciated how they managed to make a 4-star place feel lived-in rather than sterile – you'll find little touches like actual coffee that doesn't taste like cardboard and kitchenettes that are genuinely useful, not just for show. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you're there; it's one of those places that just... works, you know?
What really sells me on this spot is how it sits perfectly between being connected and being away from it all. You're about a 20-minute S-Bahn ride from the heart of Berlin – the S45 and S46 lines run pretty regularly from Adlershof station – but when you come back in the evening, you're not dealing with tourist crowds or street noise. Instead, you've got the Landschaftspark Johannisthal right there if you want to go for a walk, and honestly, some evenings I'd just wander around the tech campus area because it's got this oddly calming, almost Scandinavian vibe to it. Parking isn't the nightmare it is in Mitte or Prenzlauer Berg either, which is a huge relief if you're driving. The staff seem to actually know the neighborhood too – they pointed me toward this little Vietnamese place called Saigon that locals go to, tucked away on Rudower Chaussee that I never would've found otherwise. Sure, you're not stumbling out your front door onto Unter den Linden, but sometimes that's exactly what you want from a Berlin stay.

The apartment is located in a safe area, so it was not scary to leave the car. There is a train station near the apartment, so it is easy to get to the city center.
the room was very clean, the beds are very comfy and there are additional pillows to use, big balcony and very spacious in general, the staff at the reception was welcoming and helpful
The location was perfect for me since I was attending a university event that was right next door. However, I don't recommend it for visiting the city as it takes around 40 minutes to get to the center.
