AMERON Hotel Abion Spreebogen Berlin
About
Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from the AMERON Hotel Abion Spreebogen when I first walked up to it – you know how some 4-star places can feel a bit corporate and sterile? But this one actually surprised me in a good way. The lobby hits you with this sleek, modern vibe that's distinctly Berlin without trying too hard to be trendy. It's right in the Spreebogen area, which I mean, if you know Berlin at all, puts you in this interesting spot where you're close to government buildings but also near the Spree river – sort of that sweet spot between official Berlin and the parts tourists actually want to see.
What really got me was how the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to Hackescher Markt (because honestly, that's where you want to be in the evenings), the front desk guy didn't just point me toward the U-Bahn – he mentioned the specific exit to use and warned me about construction on Friedrichstraße that week. Little things like that make a difference when you're trying to navigate a city. The rooms themselves are what you'd expect from a solid 4-star – clean lines, decent space, and thank god, blackout curtains that actually work. Berlin summers mean it's light until like 9 PM, so trust me on this one. I did notice the air conditioning could be a bit temperamental, but honestly, most Berlin hotels struggle with that since the city isn't really built for serious heat waves.
The 8.4 rating makes total sense once you've stayed there a night or two. It's not going to blow your mind, but everything just works the way it should. Breakfast was actually pretty solid – proper German bread selection, decent coffee, and they had those little yogurt parfait things that somehow make mornings more bearable. The area gets surprisingly quiet at night considering you're not that far from Hauptbahnhof, though you might catch some early morning delivery trucks if you're a light sleeper. What I really appreciated was the location for getting around – you're walking distance to the river if you want to do that touristy Spree cruise thing, but you can also just hop on public transport and be in Mitte or Prenzlauer Berg in no time. It's one of those places that feels like a good base camp rather than a destination itself, which honestly is exactly what you want when you're trying to actually explore Berlin instead of just hanging around your hotel all day.

Professional personnel, clean room and really comfortable lobby area
Breakfast was great
The location of this hotel is very nice, next to a river promenade with a nice walk and view. The rooms were clean, well maintained, and comfortable. It is about 10 min walk to the nearest train station too. The staff are courteous and friendly. I would recommend this hotel.
Very nice hotel, excellent service and location is convenient right at central of Berlin
The location was superb for the purposes of my trip. The room was spacious and in good condition. Elevators were fast and silent. Reception is large and pleasant. Attached restaurant & bar was sufficient and open until late. Reception staff was kind enough to fix the problem with my room's carpet swiftly.
The place, the neighborhoods and the river next to it was a chef kiss…a special mention to Salam at the reception who was very helpful and very thoughtful…definitely will rebook again if i will ever be in Berlin again. A Home away from home.
Great location excellent breakfast and and friendly staff .
I love the little details like the coffee in the room, the access to the sauna, the coffee station if you leave in the early morning, the extras you can order for your room, etc. These things make the stay very cozy. Also everything was clean and the staff was friendly.
Location and price at this time compared to any other hotel can't be bitten. We thought we would stay at the main hotel, but instead of this we get a very posh and nice small villa with a massive apartment. Clean and very elegant. Definitely highly recommend
