Aparion Apartments Berlin
About
You know what? I wasn't expecting much from Aparion Apartments Berlin when I first walked up – it's got that understated three-star vibe that could go either way. But honestly, this place surprised me in the best possible way. The lobby has this clean, almost minimalist feel that immediately tells you they've put thought into the details without trying too hard. Check-in was refreshingly smooth (no standing around for twenty minutes while they figure out their system), and the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood when I asked about getting around.
The apartment itself – and I mean, these are proper apartments, not just hotel rooms with a mini-fridge shoved in the corner – felt like someone's actual home. The kitchen was fully equipped, which saved me a fortune on Berlin's restaurant scene, and the living area had enough space to actually spread out after a long day of walking around the city. I was on the fourth floor facing what I think was east, and mornings were surprisingly quiet considering we're talking about Berlin here. The bed was solid too – not fancy, but the kind where you actually sleep through the night instead of waking up with a crick in your neck. One small thing that bugged me was the shower pressure (it's decent but not great), though the water gets properly hot, which isn't always a given in older European buildings.
What really sold me on this place was how it sits in the city. You're not stuck in some tourist bubble, but you're not stranded in the middle of nowhere either. There's a U-Bahn station close enough that you don't need to plan your route around getting there, and I discovered this fantastic little Turkish place around the corner that became my go-to for late dinners. The area has that lived-in Berlin feel – you'll see actual locals doing their grocery shopping, not just tour groups marching past. Parking was surprisingly manageable if you're driving, though honestly, you won't need a car much once you're settled in. The 8.0 rating makes perfect sense to me – it's not trying to be the Ritz, but it delivers exactly what it promises and then some. I'd definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning a longer trip where having a real kitchen and living space would matter. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like you're living in Berlin for a week, not just visiting it.

Late check-in was afforded by a kiosk outside the main entrance. It was simple quick and easy to use. The kiosk provided my room key and the whole process only required a few short minutes.
