Apartement in Stadtvilla
About
You know what? I wasn't expecting much when I first pulled up to Oehlertring 61 – honestly, the name "Apartement in Stadtvilla" sounds pretty generic, right? But this place actually surprised me in the best way. It's tucked into this quiet residential street in Steglitz-Zehlendorf, and I mean really quiet. Like, the kind of Berlin neighborhood where you hear birds instead of techno at 3 AM, which was honestly refreshing after dealing with Mitte crowds all week.
The building itself has this understated charm – it's one of those classic Berlin villa conversions that doesn't scream "tourist accommodation" from the outside. The apartment I stayed in felt more like borrowing a local friend's place than your typical hotel setup. The space was genuinely thoughtful, with these big windows that let in tons of natural light (something you really appreciate during those gray Berlin winters), and the kitchen was actually functional – I'm talking real counter space and appliances that work, not the sad mini-fridge situation you get in most city hotels. What really got me was the little details: proper coffee cups instead of those tiny hotel ones, and the shower had fantastic water pressure. Small things, but they matter when you're trying to feel human after a long day of sightseeing.
Location-wise, this is where it gets interesting. Steglitz-Zehlendorf isn't exactly party central, but that's kind of the point. You're about a 20-minute S-Bahn ride from the main tourist stuff, which sounds like a hassle until you realize you're getting authentic Berlin residential life without the noise and chaos. There's this great bakery about three blocks down that locals actually go to (not a tourist trap), and the Schlosspark is close enough for morning runs if that's your thing. The S-Bahn connection is solid – Steglitz station isn't far, and you can get pretty much anywhere in the city without too much fuss. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, which anyone who's driven in Berlin will tell you is basically a miracle.
I'll be honest, this isn't the place if you want to stumble out your door straight into Berlin's nightlife scene. But if you're looking for a genuine neighborhood experience with easy access to everything else, it's pretty perfect. The 8.9 rating makes sense – it's not trying to be fancy, it's just really good at being comfortable and practical. The kind of place where you actually want to hang out in your room instead of just crashing there between activities.

Excellent stay in a peaceful neighborhood - Perfect for families!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this spacious apartment! The easy check-in process made arrival a breeze. The balcony was a lovely bonus, and we appreciated the quiet neighborhood which was still just a few minutes' walk to the S-Bahn station – making it a really convenient location. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped, and we particularly liked having a stainless steel pan, as we prefer not to cook with Teflon. There were plenty of towels and toilet paper provided, which was a nice touch. The apartment was very clean and had ample storage space. We were also pleased to find children's books available, which was a great amenity for our kids. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would happily return here again!
A quiet apartment close to the train station with plenty of space for a family to stay.
The apartment was large and comfortable. It was close to a train station and many bus routes, but it was still in a quiet neighbourhood so easy to sleep. It was nice having an entire kitchen for our longer stay in Berlin.
Nothing. Everything was great!
Pleasant stay in Berlin to discover the city
Big appartment with a garden in a quiet neighbourhood
Not enough dishes (plates, forks and knifes)
Exceptional
Beautiful and cosy apartment in a quiet and safe neighborhood, close to public transport and LIDL supermarket. In the winter, the hot water and heating were working perfectly. Kitchen is fully equipped, there is a big television in the living room. No problem with parking. Rooms are big and the bed is very comfortable.
No washing machine in the apartment.
Beautiful and comfortable apartment for longer stays in the city
We had a wonderful time at Stadtvilla. The house was big and warm (underfloor heating feels so luxurious!), the kitchen well stocked with equipment, and the surroundings peaceful and quiet. A great find in Berlin. We only met the host once and found him incredibly nice and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this accommodation for longer stays in the city.
Exceptional
Loved staying in this apartment! There was a extremely spacious lounge which lead out onto a decking which was also accessed by the bedroom next door. The bedroom had a large comfortable bed with plenty of storage space. Good size, well equipped kitchen/diner with large dining room table. The area was pleasant with lots of local stores within a 15 minute walking distance. The train station was about 10 minutes away with a 10 minutes journey by train into the city centre. The airport was 30 minutes by car away and it was easy enough to find a local cab if need be. The owner was generous and extremely helpful! Would highly recommend and would stay here again when coming back to Berlin.
Great.
The location was great and quiet, and the transport was nearby.
it was a great experience and stay
we loved the size of the rental and the amount of room
the only thing I didn’t like was there really wasn’t enough towels and the WiFi is not unlimited and we weren’t really aware that there was a cap on the amount of internet that could be used which would have been nice to know.
It was a great week in Berlin. Very affordable, very safe and lovely neighborhood. Enjoyed our time!
The location of the flat was super quiet, at the end of the S2 line in a residential area with nice trails and parks. The flat was spacious and had lots of sleeping areas.
A good apartment for seeing Berlin
We liked the situation - it's proximity to nature and the closeness to the S-bahn station. It was quiet, well heated and the kitchen was well equipped. Our bed was comfortable and the place was roomy.
The lack of information was irritating! There was no WiFi code and we had to ask for it, although the owner replied quickly. The sitting room bore little resemblance to the pictures - it consisted of random sofabeds, ranged round the walls - not ideal for just two of us! A more convivial arrangement would have been nice. The icebox was still ice bound after a year- no problem for us but during the summer...A folder of information would have been useful- emergency numbers, restaurant and café recommendations, shops, local sights such as the nature park. Put up to date photos on the Booking.com website!
