Apartments-Maison Am Olivaer Platz
About
You know what caught me off guard about Apartments-Maison Am Olivaer Platz? The name makes it sound way fancier than it actually is – and honestly, that's kind of refreshing. I mean, this isn't some glossy five-star situation trying to impress you with marble lobbies and doormen in top hats. It's more like staying in a friend's well-kept apartment building, if your friend happened to live in one of Berlin's quieter residential pockets.
The location is actually pretty smart when you think about it. Olivaer Platz isn't where all the tourists end up taking selfies, but that's exactly why it works. You're close enough to Kurfürstendamm that you can walk there without breaking a sweat, but far enough away that you won't hear drunk backpackers stumbling home at 3 AM. I spent a good chunk of my mornings just wandering the neighborhood – there's this little bakery around the corner where the older German ladies queue up for their daily bread, and you get that genuine local vibe you can't really manufacture. The whole area has this lived-in feeling, you know? Real people actually live here, which sounds obvious but isn't always the case in city centers.
The apartments themselves are solid – nothing that'll blow your mind, but everything works the way it should. The kitchenettes are actually functional (I made pasta twice and didn't want to throw anything out the window), and the Wi-Fi doesn't drop out every ten minutes like some places I've stayed. Sure, the décor is a bit... well, let's call it "practical German minimalism" – think clean lines and neutral colors that won't offend anyone but also won't end up on anyone's Instagram. The beds are comfortable enough, though the pillows are those firm European ones that take some getting used to if you're American. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. You might hear the occasional tram, but it's more of a gentle rumble than anything jarring. Check-in was straightforward too – no weird complications or surprise fees that make you question your life choices. For a 3-star place with a 7.0 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to oversell itself, which is honestly refreshing in a world full of places that talk a big game and then hand you towels that feel like sandpaper.
Visitors often choose Berlin apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent German capital.

The staff was friendly and the location not bad.
Very good location, private and comfortable
The location was perfect, and the kitchen was great for making coffee in the morning. Good size room.
Convenient location, fairly large room with high ceilings.
Water kettle and hangers were provided. The size of the room was more than sufficient for one person.
The location is great, there are many restaurants in the area; also close to bus/subway stations. The room looks good, it is comfortable and is very clean! People at the reception were very kind.
The Rooms are located in different "buildings", there were no instructions that in my case the keys had to be picked up in one of the other building entrances. The Lobby is in the third floor, with a tiny elevator.
Location is very good
Very clean and was cleaned every day. Very friendly staff.
The location is near buses. The room itself was clean and new.
