Berlin Marriott Hotel
About
Honestly, I wasn't expecting much when I first walked into the Berlin Marriott – I mean, it's a chain hotel, right? But this place actually surprised me. The lobby hits you with this sleek, modern vibe that somehow doesn't feel cold or corporate. There's this subtle buzz of international travelers mixed with what I'm pretty sure were local business folks grabbing coffee, which always feels like a good sign to me.
What really won me over was how the staff seemed to genuinely know Berlin. When I asked about getting to Hackescher Markt without dealing with tourist traps, the concierge didn't just point me toward the S-Bahn – he actually sketched out this little route through some quieter streets that ended up being perfect for photos. The rooms are exactly what you'd expect from a 5-star Marriott, but with these floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the city beautifully. I got lucky with a higher floor and could see all the way to the TV Tower at Alexanderplatz. The beds are seriously comfortable too – that Marriott pillow situation is no joke, and after walking around Berlin all day, you'll appreciate it.
Here's the thing though – location-wise, you're not in the thick of Mitte or right by Brandenburg Gate, but that's actually kind of nice. It's quiet enough that you can sleep without earplugs (trust me, this matters in Berlin), but you're still close enough to everything that matters. The U-Bahn connections are solid, and if you're into the whole Museum Island scene, it's a pretty easy trip. Parking was surprisingly painless if you're driving, which... well, most people aren't in Berlin, but still. The breakfast buffet is extensive – maybe too extensive if you're trying to make decisions before coffee – and they do this thing with local pastries that feels more authentic than most hotel spreads. Check-in was smooth, no drama, though if you're arriving during one of those big trade shows Berlin loves to host, definitely call ahead. The fitness center is better than average, and the spa area is actually worth mentioning, which I usually don't bother with. You know what really sealed it for me? The bar has this local beer selection that goes beyond just Berliner Weisse, and the bartender knew his stuff about Berlin's craft beer scene. It's those little touches that make you feel like you're staying somewhere that gets it, not just another international hotel that happens to be in Germany.

Location
Great location and extremely quiet room
Extremely polite staff! Fantastic breakfast! Fantastic location at the best spot of Berlin in my opinion. Very clean room! Wonderful pool which was open for the kids at all time until 23:00. We truly appreciate that the hotel is kids friendly. Provided us with late checkout which i also appreciate alot.
Everything was excellent. The rooms were clean and exceedingly comfortable. The rooms were totally sound proof and even with all the street noise and activity and fireworks on New Year’s Eve and a DJ playing music in the lobby bar there was absolutely no disturbance in the rooms. I totally loved this about the rooms. Breakfast was amazing!! There was nothing anyone wanted that wasn’t in the buffet or available by the chefs. Staff were exceedingly polite and helpful. Location was just brilliant for shopping, important sights and monuments and restaurants, cafes, etc.
