The lobby has this lived-in comfort that feels more like a well-run family business than some corporate chain.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – and I'm someone who usually needs earplugs in city hotels. The rooms are larger than what you'd typically find in central Berlin, with windows that actually open properly and let in fresh air that doesn't smell like exhaust fumes. The S-Bahn connections aren't terrible once you figure out the system, and having Köpenick's old town nearby gives you this completely different side of Berlin that most visitors never see. There's something refreshing about ending your day somewhere that feels residential and calm instead of constantly being surrounded by tourist chaos. The 7.4 rating feels about right – it's not going to blow your mind, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. If you're planning to spend your days exploring the city but want to sleep somewhere that actually feels restful, this place makes a lot of sense.
