Berlinapartments-Downtown
About
You know what struck me first about Berlinapartments-Downtown? It's actually in one of those neighborhoods where real Berliners live, not some tourist bubble. Schwedenstr. 14 might not sound familiar, but it's right in that sweet spot of Mitte where you've got the Wedding district vibes mixing with the more polished city center energy. I mean, you're close enough to walk to Alexanderplatz if you're feeling ambitious, but far enough away that you won't hear tour groups chattering outside your window at 7 AM.
The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Berlin apartment feel – thick walls (thank God, because Berlin can get surprisingly loud), decent-sized rooms that actually feel like someone could live there for more than a weekend. The 4-star rating feels about right, honestly. It's not trying to be some fancy hotel with marble everything, but the wifi works reliably, the kitchenettes are properly equipped (not just a mini-fridge and a prayer), and the beds are firm in that European way that either works for you or doesn't. The 8.1 rating makes sense too – it's the kind of place where everything functions well without being Instagram-perfect. Check-in was straightforward, though I'd recommend texting ahead since it's more apartment-style management than a traditional front desk situation.
What I really appreciated was how connected you feel to the actual rhythm of the city from here. There's a great little späti (that's Berlin-speak for corner store) literally around the corner that stays open late – crucial for those moments when you realize you need snacks or forgot to grab beer. The S-Bahn connections are solid without being right on top of you, and honestly, some of my favorite Berlin discoveries happened just wandering the streets around there. You've got that mix of Turkish bakeries, vintage shops, and random galleries that makes Mitte interesting beyond just the tourist checklist. The area gets pretty quiet after 10 PM on weeknights, which was perfect for actually getting some sleep, but weekends have just enough energy that you feel plugged into the city. If you're the type who wants to experience Berlin like you're temporarily living there rather than just visiting, this spot nails that vibe – plus you'll save money compared to those boutique hotels in Hackescher Markt while being close enough to everything that matters.

Very good
Very nice apartment
Location
Great apartment, clean, comfortable, and a two minute walk from the closest U bahn.
Easy check in, renovated apartment with all the necessary equipment. I called the apartment contact one morning because we didn’t have hot water and she showed up an hour later to fix the problem.
We wished there has been a house book with useful information: neighborhood map, where to put recycling, etc.
Fab location clean, spacious very comfortable
Great location as my son only lives 1stop away on train. Beds very comfortable and clean. Easy to locate would definitely stay again as I'm in Berlin often
Only one complaint pans could have been bit cleaner but no real issue
Superb
Comfort, facilities, location near two U-bahn lines, free parking...
Cleanliness of bathroom and balcony
Very good
Good location right next to a subway. Very quiet! Appartment was clean and had everything you need.
A few more pillows would have been nice :)
Lovely stay!
Very comfortable, clean, nice kitchen, spotless large bathroom.
Great place to stay
The host kindly let us check in early. Very large apartment
The kitchend items were quite badic.
Great place and location for those travelling into the city!
Property had two large sized rooms and one with a balcony which was great. Really great location with shops close by and a well connected station into central right around the corner. Plenty of utensils in there if you wanted to cook, and easy to feel comfortable in the flat.
The living space and sofa wasn’t the most comfortable as a communal area.
pretty good.
pretty good, clean and cozy.
property itself is good, but the location is a bit far away from tourist attractions.
But overall, it was a very good experience and i would definitely book it again if I visit Berlin.
Highly recommended apartments in Berlin!!! The moment we entered the apartment, we were happy. It was beautiful , clean , sun lite and airy. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The kitchen has every thing needed like toaster, coffee machine, water kettle and even soap to wash utensils. Some basic ingredients were also provided along with all necessary utensils. The bathroom also was clean and had a washing machine and hair dryer. Location wise, it is a very nice neighbourhood . The U bahn and Tram station are 2 mins walk. It connects to all important places. For grocery shopping, kaufland is 5 mins walk away. The wifi had good connectivity.
Only 2 things we thought were not good and can be improved are: 1. The freezer was filled with ice so we couldn't keep like ice creams in it. 2. The shower door in the bathroom had a bit of rubber seal open at the bottom because of which some water would flow out during the shower. It could be slippery due to this.
