You know how sometimes you find a place that's technically in one neighborhood but feels like it belongs to another? That's City-Apartment II Kreuzberg – despite what the name suggests, it's actually sitting right on the border between Neukölln and Kreuzberg on Kottbusser Damm, which honestly works in your favor. You get that gritty, authentic Berlin vibe without being smack in the middle of the tourist chaos around Kottbusser Tor.
The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Berlin apartment block feel – thick walls that actually keep the street noise down (trust me, this matters on Kottbusser Damm). Inside, it's been done up really thoughtfully. I mean, these aren't your typical cramped hotel rooms – they feel like actual apartments where someone lives, with proper kitchenettes and enough space to spread out your stuff without playing Tetris with your suitcase. The 9.2 rating makes sense once you're there; everything just works the way it should, which sounds basic but... well, you know how rare that actually is. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no hovering desk clerk trying to upsell you on breakfast packages or city tours.
What I really loved about staying here is how it drops you right into everyday Berlin life. There's this fantastic Turkish bakery maybe two minutes' walk away where locals actually go for their morning börek, and the whole stretch of Kottbusser Damm has these family-run shops and cafés that haven't been gentrified into Instagram-bait yet. You're about a ten-minute walk from the heart of Kreuzberg's bar scene around Oranienstraße, but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night. The U-Bahn connections are solid too – Schönleinstraße station gets you pretty much anywhere you need to go, though honestly, some of Berlin's best stuff is just wandering distance from here. The whole Graefekiez area is right there, with its tree-lined streets and that perfect mix of dive bars and decent restaurants. It's the kind of spot where you start to feel like you live in Berlin rather than just visiting it, if that makes sense.

Spacious apartment
We stayed in City Apartment Kreuzberg in early July and wasn't disappointed. The apartment has all you need and is incredibly spacious. The comfort we experienced was very good. You are situated within a few minutes walk from the cool and trendy Kreuzberg bohemian area. There are plenty of brunch bars and beautiful restaurants all within 10mins or less walk. Thank you Berno for our cold beers in the fridge when we arrived. We will definitely enjoy a trip back and use this property.
These are small things. The lock to the front door was a bit temperamental but no big issue. There is minimal noise from the side of the property early in the morning and you can slightly hear the underground trains.

Perfect location to explore Kreuzberg / Neukölln, on Kottbusser Damm, 100m from Hermannplatz. 1000 nice resturants close by. Also, finally a place with really nice, firm cushions!

Everything was amazing, we were pleasantly surprised. We couldn't ask for more, we actually had more than we had imagined. There was plenty of space for 4 people and the apartment was very cool. There were a lot of drinks in the fridge and some snacks that we definitely needed. The location is super and there's plenty of stores to eat and shop nearby. The owner was very friendly and helpful with everything we needed. It will be an unforgettable stay, thank you.

Good location near U Bahn and with loads of shops, restaurants, lunchrooms, (super)markets etc. in surroundings. Great private parking. Nice spacious and clean apartment with good bedrooms, kitchen, living room. Friendly and helpful owner who is willing to give some good advice on local spots.
Shower in the kitchen was a bit getting used to, but it worked out. Be prepared to feel the tremors of the U bahn ever so lightly and bring earplugs due to noise from the street (obviously it's located in a vibrant area). Also there was some confusion about checkout time (on Booking.com it said 12.00, which we also verbally agreed upon, but owner thought we would checkout at 11.00 so we had to rush a bit). All in all minor issues, had a lovely time and would stay again.

Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt in der Wohnung. Sie war super ausgestattet – es war wirklich alles vorhanden, was man so braucht. Die Lage war ebenfalls top: In der Nähe gab es eine kleine Parkanlage zum Entspannen und die Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel war hervorragend. Besonders praktisch war auch der Stellplatz in der Tiefgarage – so konnten wir unser Auto sicher abstellen und bequem mit der Metro oder dem Bus fahren. Wir würden jederzeit gerne wieder hier übernachten!
