Numa Berlin Weinmeister
About
You know what struck me first about Numa Berlin Weinmeister? It's tucked right on this narrow cobblestone street in Mitte, and honestly, you'd almost walk past it if you weren't looking – which is actually kind of perfect. The building itself has that classic Berlin thing going on where it's been around forever but got this sleek modern makeover that doesn't try too hard.
The location is honestly ridiculous (in the best way). I mean, you're literally a two-minute walk from Hackescher Markt, and if you know Berlin at all, you know that puts you right in the thick of everything without being stuck in tourist central. The S-Bahn station is right there, so getting anywhere else in the city is a breeze, but more importantly – and this is something I only figured out after staying there twice – you're positioned perfectly between the trendy gallery scene around Auguststraße and all the good restaurants tucked into those little side streets near Rosenthaler Platz. There's this fantastic Vietnamese place called Madame Ngo just around the corner that locals actually go to, not just hotel guests wandering around looking lost.
What I really appreciate about this place is how they've nailed that whole "boutique but not pretentious" vibe. The rooms are clean and modern without being sterile – you've got everything you actually need (decent wifi, good shower pressure, blackout curtains that work) without a bunch of unnecessary stuff cluttering up the space. The beds are surprisingly comfortable for what's essentially a design-forward hotel, and the windows open properly, which sounds minor until you're trying to get some fresh air on those warm Berlin summer nights. I stayed there during Museum Night in August and it was busy as hell outside, but the room stayed pretty quiet despite being right in Mitte. The check-in process is mostly digital, which threw me off the first time but actually works really well – especially if you're arriving late or early. There's usually someone around if you need help, but you're not stuck waiting in line behind a tour group checking in at the same time.
The whole area comes alive differently depending on when you're there. Weekday mornings it's all business people grabbing coffee and locals heading to work, but weekend evenings? That's when you realize why this neighborhood has the reputation it does. You can walk to Museum Island in about ten minutes, but honestly, some of the best stuff is right in your immediate area – little concept stores, galleries that change their exhibitions monthly, and cafes where you'll actually hear more German than English. It's got that 8.3 rating for good reason – it delivers on what it promises without any weird surprises, and in a city where location can make or break your whole experience, Numa Weinmeister puts you exactly where you want to be.

No reception, hard to communicate via whatapp with a robot.
Clean, close to centre
No reception, all goes via whatsapp, i had to checkout on app or on a barcode. Don’t know what happens if i don’t scan barcode to checkout? Probably they would charge me. This is scary. Feels like loosing trust
Comfortable, spacious room with an efficient non-manned check-in system.
A spacious room, comfy bed, great room temperature, quiet despite being central.
Lack of human interaction is part of the experience - everything is digital, but it was efficient.
Very good
Lovely, big, airy room, with beautiful decor and tall windows
I would stay there again
It has everything automated
As it is everything done electronically, one needs to pay attention to all of their messages. I missed once in a while to have some staff present. The blanket was really too hot to be used in the summer.
Superb
A great stay! The room was spacious, well-appointed, clean, and offered a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. The hotel is ideally located, with easy access to local attractions and transportation options.
Great hotel
Everything is automated but it works very well, with all the necessary information provided on time. Very comfortable room.
The curtains let quite some light leak in the morning.
Excellent location, beautiful terrace.
Very thoughtful design and incredible views from the terrace.
Everything went well but there is no staff on site should a problem arise.
Superb
Perfect hotel for a long or short stay in Berlin. The numa concept is very convenient and good for those who don’t need the lobby experience.
Comfortable and convenient stay
Clean and comfortable accommodation in a good location. Check-in was easy and it was nice having the waiting room available for use with lockers if you arrived early or were leaving late.
Great hotel in a great location, good value for money. Don’t get caught out (like we did) by not registering ahead of a
Great location, big rooms (for a hotel in this price range) with a fridge and coffee/tea making facilities.
Not an issue for couples but the shower was in the bedroom, not in the bathroom. Something to be aware of depending on who you are travelling with, this may not be the configuration with all the rooms.
