Courtyard by Marriott Berlin City Center
About
Look, I've stayed at my fair share of Marriott properties, but this Courtyard in Berlin's city center actually surprised me in the best way. The moment you walk in, there's this modern but warm vibe that doesn't feel sterile like some chain hotels can – you know what I mean? The lobby has these comfortable seating areas where people actually hang out instead of just rushing through, and honestly, the coffee situation is way better than I expected (though let's be real, it's still not German café quality).
What really won me over was how the staff seemed to genuinely know Berlin. When I asked about getting to Museum Island, the front desk guy didn't just hand me a generic map – he told me which U-Bahn entrance to use and mentioned that Wednesday evenings are crazy busy there. The rooms are what you'd expect from a 4-star Marriott, clean and functional, but I appreciated the little touches like blackout curtains that actually work (crucial when those summer Berlin days stretch until like 10 PM) and a shower with decent water pressure. The beds are comfortable, though I mean, after walking around Berlin all day, I probably could've slept on the floor. One small thing – the air conditioning can be a bit loud, but honestly, I prefer that over being too warm.
The location is where this place really shines, and I don't just mean it's "conveniently located" like every hotel claims. You're genuinely in the thick of things without being right on top of the tourist chaos. Potsdamer Platz is close enough for easy shopping and entertainment, but you're not dealing with the constant sirens and street noise. I could walk to the Brandenburg Gate in about fifteen minutes, and there are these great little Turkish places and traditional German restaurants within a couple blocks that you'd never find if you stayed out in the suburbs. The breakfast is solid – not spectacular, but they have proper German bread and decent coffee, plus some international options that don't taste like cardboard. Parking can be tricky (this is Berlin, after all), but they have a garage, though it'll cost you extra. Check-in was smooth, even when I arrived early, and they stored my bags without any fuss. For the price point and that 8.7 rating, I get it – this isn't a luxury experience, but it's exactly what you want when you're spending most of your time exploring the city anyway.

Great location, friendly staff
Experience here was excellent. Staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast is comprehensive and generous. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. It is easy to walk to places from hotel or hop on the metro.
Location, large quiet room, good breakfast and parking in the hotel garage.
Room, breakfast, facilities and staff were very satisfactory and are recommended.
The Courtyard Berlin City Center (Room 203) provided a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The room was spacious, allowing ample space for two large suitcases, and featured modern decor, a large, comfortable bed, multiple seating options, excellent adjustable lighting, and an openable window for fresh air. Daily housekeeping was flawless, ensuring the room was always spotless. Storage options were plentiful, with hangers, hooks, and shelves, and the mirrors, including a lighted bathroom mirror and a full-length one, were excellent. Basic tea and coffee were provided, and the room was warm and cozy in December, thanks to both air conditioning and a bathroom radiator. The hotel itself was modern and attractive, conveniently located near public transport, with friendly and helpful staff.
Loved the updated features and cleanliness. Staff was so amazing and nice.
Location , rooms service 😊
Nice hotel with an okay location in the city. The room was spacious and clean, but we missed having a kettle. The breakfast was large and varied, but there was no good coffee alternatives, only machines available.
The hotel was spotless throughout, the rooms were very contemporary and well designed. Very large comfortable bed with fab mattress and lovely linens. Modern bathroom with great powerful shower. Breakfast was lovely with loads of choice from fresh fruits, hot food, egg station, fresh pastries and pancake machine along with choice of hot drinks and good quality fruit juices. We loved the lobby bar in the evenings. Friendly, helpful team in reception. Great choice for a stay in Berlin. 6 mins walk to checkpoint Charlie which is also a stop for the open top tour buses. 15 mins walk in the opposite direction to great restaurants, shops and markets.
Everything was perfect, including room, facilities, cleanliness, location, staff, breakfast. Easy accessible with metro and bus.
