Crowne Plaza Berlin City Centre Ku’damm, an IHG Hotel
About
You know what struck me first about the Crowne Plaza on Ku'damm? It's got this solid, unpretentious vibe that feels refreshingly honest in a city where some hotels try way too hard. I mean, it's right there on Kurfürstendamm - which locals just call Ku'damm because, well, who has time for all those syllables - and the location actually delivers on what you'd hope for without the usual downtown Berlin chaos.
The thing about this stretch of Ku'damm is that you're close enough to everything that matters but far enough from Alexanderplatz that you won't be dodging tour groups every time you step outside. I've stayed here a few times now, and honestly, the 8.3 rating makes sense - it's not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it gets the important stuff right. The rooms have that IHG consistency you can count on, though I'd skip the street-facing ones if you're a light sleeper because Ku'damm never really goes quiet. The staff actually remembers you if you're there for more than a couple nights, which is rarer than it should be these days. Check-in is usually smooth, even during the crazy summer months when Berlin gets packed with festival-goers and business travelers.
What I really appreciate is how the hotel sits in the neighborhood - you've got the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church just a short walk away (impossible to miss with that distinctive damaged spire), and you're basically at the heart of West Berlin's shopping district without feeling trapped in tourist central. The breakfast setup is solid, nothing revolutionary but they do proper German bread and the coffee doesn't taste like it's been sitting around since yesterday. Parking can be a bit of a headache around here - I mean, it's central Berlin, so that's expected - but the hotel can point you toward a garage that won't completely destroy your budget. The elevators are quick, which matters more than you'd think when you're hauling luggage up to the higher floors, and the lobby has this comfortable, lived-in feeling that makes it easy to meet people or just sit with a drink after a long day of wandering around the city.
Berlin hotels range from charming boutique properties in the historic Mitte district to elegant converted buildings and modern accommodations near the Brandenburg Gate.

An excellent hotel near the zoological garden train station. Convenient location, comfortable room, swimming pool with sauna clean and not crowded, great breakfast.
Location
Great location with varied breakfast options. Room was large enough and bed was comfy
Ideal location. Good times for breakfast. Reception staff exceptional, knowledgeable, spoke numerous languages
The hotel’s location was excellent, with many stores, restaurants and transportation options nearby. I requested a room with a street view, and I was given one. The continental buffet breakfast was something my partner and I looked forward to each morning (we booked with breakfast, which was worth it). We also appreciated the late checkout time of noon, which was a nice change compared to most hotels that require checkout by 10 or 11 a.m. The hotel is 5 minute from the Berlin Zoo and 35-55 minute walk to the Berlin Gate. The hotel itself is modern, well light and have great helpful staffs.
Perfect location, tasty breakfast, clean and spacious room.
