Factory Lofts Art Design Kreuzberg Mitte
About
You know what struck me first about Factory Lofts? The building itself – it's this converted industrial space on Ritterstraße that still has that raw, unpolished vibe Kreuzberg is famous for. I mean, you can literally feel the history in the exposed brick and high ceilings. It's not trying to be fancy (honestly, with a 7.3 rating, it doesn't pretend to be), but there's something genuinely cool about staying in what feels like an artist's warehouse.
The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know Berlin at all. You're right on the border between Kreuzberg and Mitte, which means you get the best of both worlds – the edgy, alternative scene of Kreuzberg is right outside your door, but you can walk to Museum Island or Alexanderplatz without breaking a sweat. I loved that I could grab coffee at some tiny local café in the morning, then be at Checkpoint Charlie in fifteen minutes if I wanted to do the tourist thing. The U-Bahn is close enough that you're connected to everything, but far enough that you're not dealing with constant train noise (though let's be real, this is Berlin – there's always some street noise, especially on weekends when the nightlife kicks in).
What really works here is the space itself. These aren't your typical cramped hotel rooms – the loft-style setup gives you room to actually spread out and live a bit. The design is minimalist in that deliberate way, with concrete floors and industrial fixtures that somehow manage to feel cozy rather than cold. I appreciated the little touches too, like decent lighting for reading and enough power outlets that I wasn't constantly hunting for places to charge my phone. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no pretentious lobby scene, just efficient service from people who actually seemed to know the neighborhood. They gave me solid recommendations for dinner spots that weren't the usual tourist traps, which honestly made my whole stay better. The only minor thing – and this might not bother everyone – is that the minimalist aesthetic means things can feel a bit sparse if you're used to more traditional hotel amenities. But if you're the type who wants to experience Berlin rather than hide from it in some generic chain hotel, that stripped-down approach actually enhances the whole experience. You're staying in a piece of the city's industrial past, in a neighborhood that's still figuring out its identity between art galleries and gentrification, and somehow Factory Lofts captures that perfectly.

Interesting stay, fantastic host
It was so close to the place I went to visit
Looked like a converted office. There was no real logic on the partition of the rooms. Be aware if you are going in a group or as a family that the partition between rooms is really thin, you will be able to hear next rooms thoughts.
Pleasant
3 bedrooms and 2 showers. Overall great but there was no tv and drawer for clothes
Good value apartment well located to get into the city.
Spacious and clean and comfortable.
Lights in the kitchen weren’t that bright, a few down lights didn’t seem to be working.
Poor
Aesthetically it’s not too bad
We didn’t get check in details until 1900 after waiting outside for a few hours messaging and calling, this is especially annoying due to the incredibly early 10am check out. On arrival two bins inside property were full from previous guests. The next day an apparent maintenance man walked into the apartment whilst I was sleeping claiming they had to access something and had been sent by the owner. I had no idea who he was nor had any forewarning or was asked for permission by the owner. Whilst the stranger was already waking around the living room the owner called him explaining that they had to look around the property (whether it was true reason is a other question)
Peaceful
Great, clean appartement. Big spaces. Good for resting. Great location close to different major transport hubs
Very good
Very good
Platz an Fläche
