Gästehaus Alpinia
About
You know what? Gästehaus Alpinia is one of those places that surprises you in the best way possible. I mean, when you first pull up, it's got that classic Alpine guesthouse vibe – nothing too flashy, but there's something immediately welcoming about the way it sits nestled into the landscape. The building has this weathered charm that tells you it's been hosting travelers for years, and honestly, that's exactly what you want in a place like this.
What really gets me about Alpinia is how they've nailed that sweet spot between authentic local character and actual comfort. The rooms are cozy – I'm talking genuinely cozy, not cramped – with those thick wooden beams and windows that frame mountain views like they were planned by a postcard photographer. The beds are surprisingly good (and trust me, I'm picky about mattresses), and there's this attention to small details that you don't always get at three-star places. Fresh flowers in the hallways, that particular smell of wood polish and mountain air, the way morning light filters through the curtains just right.
The staff here actually knows their stuff, which is refreshing. They'll point you toward hiking trails that aren't overrun with tour groups, or tell you which local restaurant to hit on a Tuesday when half the village is closed. Parking's never been an issue when I've stayed – there's space right there, no hunting around narrow streets with your luggage in tow. Check-in is straightforward, no unnecessary drama or upselling attempts. They just get you settled and let you enjoy the place. The 8.2 rating makes total sense to me because while it's not trying to be some luxury resort, it delivers exactly what it promises and then some. If you're looking for a genuine Alpine experience without the tourist trap pricing or pretentious atmosphere, Alpinia hits that mark perfectly. It's the kind of place where you actually sleep well and wake up excited to explore, rather than spending your morning complaining about thin walls or lukewarm showers.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Berlin at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak summer season when the city hosts numerous outdoor festivals and cultural events.

Super location, very nice and helpfull personel, nice breakfast
Breakfast had lots on offer. The location is so close to the station and easy to get into the centre of Berlin. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The room had a little fridge, which was great. All in all great value for money.
The staff are very helpful and courteous, especially the front desk person. The breakfast was great, and the server was very solicitous. I had to do laundry, and I was allowed to use the laundry facility. The room is modern and clean. The Alpinia is in a residential neighborhood and very quiet. Near grocery store and train station. It is a gem!
Very clean hotel, Nice breakfast
Quiet surroundings, possibility to relax outside, very good coffee, varied breakfast, very friendly staff, comfortable bed and spacious room with kitchenette
Good location, south of Berlin. Breakfast very tasty with fresh bread rolls and scrambled eggs.
Quiet but still close to train and bus. Excellent breakfast. Pleasant staff.
Breakfast was very good. Berny Wilde was too helpful. Check in and Access to gastehaus is without physical interaction. A pet friendly location and in quite residential place.
It was nice & clean in a nice residential location.
