Holiday Inn Express Berlin City Centre by IHG
About
Look, I've stayed at a lot of Holiday Inn Express properties, and honestly? This one surprised me. The Berlin City Centre location sits right on Stresemannstraße – which, okay, sounds intimidating if you don't speak German, but it's actually this perfectly positioned street that puts you walking distance from both the hip Kreuzberg scene and proper tourist stuff without the insane prices of Mitte.
The building itself has that clean, modern vibe you'd expect from IHG, but what got me was how they've managed to make a 3-star property feel more premium than it probably should. I mean, the lobby's got this understated thing going on – not trying too hard, you know? Check-in was smooth (they actually had my room ready at 2 PM, which never happens), and the staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions. My room on the fourth floor was quiet despite being on a main street, which honestly shocked me because Berlin traffic can be brutal. The beds are those Holiday Inn Express standards – firm but comfortable, and the shower had proper water pressure, which is sometimes a gamble in older European buildings.
Here's what I really appreciated: you're literally a 10-minute walk to Potsdamer Platz if that's your thing, but more importantly, you're right in the heart of where actual Berliners hang out. There's this fantastic Turkish bakery two blocks down that does incredible börek for breakfast if you want to skip the hotel's continental spread (though their coffee is surprisingly decent). The neighborhood comes alive at night – lots of little bars and restaurants that locals actually frequent, not tourist traps. I spent most evenings just wandering around discovering places. The U-Bahn station is close enough that you can easily get anywhere in the city, but far enough that you're not dealing with constant subway noise. Parking was about 15 euros a day in their garage, which seemed fair for central Berlin, though honestly you don't need a car here. The whole area feels safe walking around at night, and I say this as someone who's pretty cautious about these things. Only minor complaint? The air conditioning was a bit temperamental, but opening the windows worked fine, and the rooms don't get stuffy. For what you're paying – especially compared to some of the boutique places in Mitte that charge double – this place delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense.
Apartments in Berlin provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned German culinary traditions.

Very good
Very clean, friendly staff, good breakfast selection
Very good
Very clean, everything fresh. Good breakfast. I would especially like to mention the friendly staff at the reception. It's great that there is an ice machine in the lobby.
The hotel room was a bit small. But that's a minor thing, compared to the parking lot... it was very narrow. If there was a place to park, it was difficult to get out of the car.... And the price for such inconveniences in the parking lot is inadequate.
Breakfast was great, lots of options, room was clean and comfortable, the only place where our AC worked!
Great location for all the history that happened there. Close to Cold War and wwII spots.
Parking was pricey but it’s the norm here.
Superb
All good
Superb
Clean modern room with aurconditioning; close to Berlin’s city-center; parking under hotel;
Medium selection for breakfast (no dried bacon not brand in tomato souce).
Very good
The room.
Some staff are so unfriendly, one staff on the Breakfast Buffet was disgusting the way she handle the food and clean the area using the same gloves all the time.
The accommodation was perfect — clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. We had a great stay! The food wasn’t the h
Everything about our stay has been great — the accommodation is perfect
Good value!
The bed was very comfortable — I hadn’t slept this well on a trip in a long time!
No microwave for clients
Superb
Everything was great; comfy, clean, friendly ... my only minor gripe is that the in-room coffee was awful. The coffee at breakfast was fine but the stuff in the room was truly terrible. Aside from that, it's a great place and we would recommend it and stay there again.
The in-room coffee.
